Have you ever sow on TV documentary or somewhere else that elephant were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg.
No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not.
Does it made you wander why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away !? When elephants are very young and much smaller trainer use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.

These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.

Like the elephants, how many of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before?
To have a certain amount of fear is healthy, as long as it does not consume you...but when fear and luck of believe in yourself hold you back ...you're stuck like that elephant held by only a small rope tied to their front leg.
Have you achieved some of your personal small or big goals that you use to think you never could because of fear or not believing enough in yourself ?wine

"All personal achievement starts in the mind of the individual. Your personal achievement starts in your mind. The first step is to know exactly what your problem, goal or desire is" ~ W. Clement Stone

What are you prepared to give up, or do without, in the pursuit of your goal?

What excites you to the core?

What consumes your thoughts everyday?

One of my inspirational movie is 'The Tango - Scent of a Woman'
where Frank -BLIND MAN (Al Pacino) teaches the beautiful and charming Donna (Gabrielle Anwar) how to dance the tango...and Donna who could see was afraid of mistake ...Amazing.

Whether you’ve just had another setback chasing your dreams, been rejected by someone you care about, faced tragedy, or you’re just feeling drained from the ups and downs of this journey we call life, remember that things can turn around in an instant. All you have to do is keep moving forward, even when it feels like it would be easier to just lay down and give up.
We all take knocks in life, but the best things in life come through persistence.wine teddybear

Yeh well I think we humans are like your eleflump we are conditioned by our early training and don't realise we can just walk away and do something different.

This operant conditioning is the root of a lot of addictions.

ou have to take that first step yourself.

You're right...We all have some mind handcuffs tight to early conditions training and often it takes us life time to learn how to free ourselves from some old beliefs and learned habits, exchanging them for new one...
Nothing ever stays the same...and some of us manage to realise that we can do something different. ..
Maybe your not yet fully concious of it...but your heading that way. wink laugh

I am aware, it takes a lot of effort to shed some conditioning and some people can't do it.

True.
However, depending of our individual interest and capabilities ;we're all setting for different life goals...and no matter how insignificant one can perceive another person goal ...even the smallest steps in achievement is progress...wine
