You got a gift that was not what you wanted, and has no use for, and it's not exchangeable...what do you do with it?

now that's an inretesting question. Regift it? depends on what it is. Is it useful to someone else? Can you think of any other use for it? Is it just ugly and you don't want it around?

I wouldn't regift it, but I could take another of your suggestion I would ask someone if she would like to have it.

You be honest & tell the person it's not what you wanted or can use & if it's ok to give it to someone who can use it or if they know who can use it or if they would like it back to keep for themself. Thats what I would do. Just a thought. Because if the person that gave it dosent see it out or see you use it they will wonder why anyway. So just be up front. Best way to go. And have a Happy New year to come.dunno peace

I would put it away in the closet...to bring out at a later date to see if I have changed my mind about it..

Depending on what the gift is ....

A guy I once worked with seemed to received a lot of what he deemed to be 'tacky' gifts ... carved horns, velvet paintings, gawd awful candlesticks...

I thought his solution was genius!

He created a tacky room and all of the tacky gifts he received over the years found a place of honour in that one room.

Like all art ... a little can be bad BUT if you take it WAY over the top it can become good again -- or at least odd or humourous.

If it were something I had no use for or not able to exchange it
I'd give it back ....wrong answer

I would give away to somebody that wants it

I would donate it

I would stuff it away bring it out when that person came over
or
I would put it in my next yard sale laugh

you could dontate the unwanted gifts to the poor. i am sure someone who didnt have gift exchanges may use it or need the item.

I gave it to someone who then gave it to someone else, it just didn't have a place anywhere.

More yard sale fodder for the spring! I always buy gift certificates so I don't encounter that problem.

I agree with Darren. I would just offer it to someone whom you think would really need it.

I think it would all depend on what it is and the price the person who gave it to you might have paid for it.

give it to my brother Mike...or my sister.....I am sure she would sell it at her next yearly garage sale....

I don't have the heart to hurt someone's feelings like that...so, I would smile, thank them, give them a hug and a kiss on the cheek.......

and call my sister to find out when she will be home...jaw drop rolling on the floor laughing
