I'm not one to talk on the phone a lot. Nothing to hide, just no desire to give my number out to people I don't know well, just to have it ringing off the hook all day. Nothing personal, just how I am.

Good luck with that if anyone would try and ring me.
Many calls don't make it because of bad reception and the one's that do, hmm, I seldom answer.
And that's then from people I do not dislike.
Unknown numbers have a near zero chance of getting answered and leaving a message is pretty pointless since I don't listen to them.
Standing in front of me and slapping me in the face will get you a quicker response than ringing me.

Why so quick to jump to the phone? You typed to get here, why not type a bit more to get to know someone. It wouldn't be forever and you could see if there's any interest. THEN go for the next step, the phone.
