Please stay connected on here, feel free to message or email, gets cold in that region, i spent a winter in Europe, mostly Switzerland, penniless I wandered around until looked after and milked cows in the Swiss for three months in one word cold...

Migration to other countries has got lot harder, usually three month visas granted long as you have ongoing ticket and credit card, cash or travelers cheque's. Stay in warm affordable countries rather than developed countries in Europe, America etc. Quite a few Canadians spend time checking out other Commonwealth countries like New Zealand and Australia. In some countries like Thailand its possible to purchase cheap airline tickets. Myself long time ago i purchased Millage Tickets. Millage Ticket are good for one year, they are nonrefundable, unchangeable tickets written by an Airline (not travel Agents) that allow you go in example below get on a flight from Auckland to Noumea, stay a week month, three months long as you like then catch flight to the next nominated destination, or skip the next go straight to other nominated destination but only in forward direction, what ever takes you fancy as long its within the one year.
First friends put me onto, it went Auckland NZ, Noumea in New Caledonia, Port Vila on Vanuatu, Honiara capital the Solomon Islands, Bougainville which is part of Papua New Guinea, ?Port Moresby capital Papua New Guinea, Cains, Mt Isa, Darwin Australia, Bali, Jakarta and finally Singapore.
From Singapore over-landed to Bangkok where i purchased Millage Ticket from Bangkok, Calcutta, Bombay, Cairo, Geneva, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Paris, London US$380.00, then flew Fredi Lanka flight to LA for Pound $127.00, I then purchased a direct flight to Auckland NZ...x 3
Other options you maybe could consider is get suntan in the Caribbean.
Being of the fairer sex you might look for a travel partner in British Columbia/Canada somewhere rather than travel alone. And or, remember our troubles are within, changing location means we take our troubles with us no matter where we go.
My answer to the extensive problems within was study the Lam Rim before qualified FPMT Tibetan Dharma teacher... that helped...me and my craziness...

Rob you are definitely a seasoned travellerprofessor
I haven't travelled outside of Canada, but have been across several times over the years.
All beautiful countryside etc..never really thought about going anywhere else really, there is still so much to see.
But would love to see Australia, winter or not one day.
Even my doc told me to seek warmer climates laugh But nowadays how can one tell where is best?
Altho' I have travelled a single woman for years, I would not want to do that today.
With all the climate changes going on, hard to say.
Ahh but I can still dream......oh and you've studied Tibetan?
Your very knowledgeable Robcomfort
If you came here to visit, you wouldn't have hard time finding comfy people to be with during your staygrin hug

Your welcome to visit here, most people live near the sea in Australia as its much cooler than inland, like Canada Australia is also a very big country.

Yes I studied Dharma, met first Tibetans in Darjeeling during my travels. I sailed a yacht from Sydney (east Coast) north as far as the Daintree River, near Port Douglas just north of Cains, to my liking heat-wise, climate is more livable south of Hervey Bay.
Down round this area is as good as it gets i reckon...
took these this morning...
