Pence couldn't rightly defend Trump on any such outlined policy proposals regarding immigration, the threat of terrorism, Pence never answered as to what he or Trump would do about home grown terrorist, how Trump plan to go about protecting civilians in Syria, plans for safe and no fly zone set ups, Pence did hesitatingly explained faith and public policy positions.
I think Kaine did a much better job of answering and explaining these Clinton interests and issues than Pence. I realize some republicans and republican media outlets are saying Pence outclassed Kaine, but no one is talking about Pence's substance in information sharing on Trump's policies and concerns of the American voters... this, I would think, is more important to voters than who looked good and who won the debate based on one's appearance and jab responses.
Tim Kaine on the other hand, spent too much time interrupting Pence... Kaine had me screaming at the television telling him to "shut Up and let Pence speak". Kaine was driving me crazy, he was overly zealous in his efforts to defend and point out Clinton's plans and proposals, and to denounce Trump. Although Kaine had much more substances and information than Pence, and Kaine knew Clinton's plans and perspective proposals, which Pence didn't have a clue outside of Trump's already talking points of "fixing" and what "needs to be done", Pence said everything but never explaining how Trump would go about implementing such proposals and plans.
All in all, I felt both Vice Presidential candidates did well, considering Kaine had more insightful information into Clinton's plans. Pence was finding it difficult explaining Trump's so-called plans, and Trump can't explain his own plans, so how can a person explain something he/she knows nothing about, except Trump's cheap talk.
Pence without outright lying, could only defend Trump "at afar", and as a Christian, Pence tried the best he could to defend Trump as not having said "this or that" without having to lie for Trump or prove he believes Trump's lies. I like both Kaine and Pence and really think America and the world saw a glimpse of two candidates who outshines their running mates who are seeking the Presidential office. Kaine and Pence should be the ones running for President.
From where I sat, Pence won the debate on his style, grace, and calmness. Kaine won the debate on his assertiveness and knowledge in the matters of Clinton's presidential planed policy proposals for America if she is elected. Kaine had substance and Pence didn't have a clue, but spoke what he THOUGHT were Trump's plans in brief, never really answering direct questions to defend any plans or proposals of Trump, Pence only tried to defend Trump as a person not his non-existing policies.
Maybe the Republicans and Democrats and voters should take another look and who knows, in the end Kaine just might end up being the last minute 2016 Presidential candidate for the Democratic party, and Mike Pence for the last minute 2016 presidential candidate for the Republican party.
Based on substance and information Tim Kaine won the debate, based grace and class Pence won the debate... which one is most important to you as a voter seeking a Presidential leader of America? Class or Substance?
