Holykis: Is it pride or the person being intimidated when you may answer all they have asked for & more yet their response is as if want to see what another might say!
Is it not resistant to refuse any answer?
After pouring out your all in a loving sincere,time-consuming,very thoughtful offering?!
Is there no other way to show you have no interest in such a person without being so dead cold,because it all comes back you know?!

I thought at first you were asking is it rude when people don't respond to your posts.
But then it seems you are asking how should YOU go about not responding to a post when you could care less what that person says.
I will tell you that when I give a thoughtful response that took a bit of time to write and the OP or any other poster doesn't comment I feel slighted and it's not a good feeling.
So I would suggest to you to make the effort to at least let the person know that you read their response. Give them the respect for taking the time to write to you.

Us seasoned posters
soon find out that every person chooses what they wish to post and when they choose to post. I for one would love to create a thread that gets a billion hits, but I cannot coerce others to comply.
In this mad dash world I sometimes see a hot topic, but do not have the time to read the entire thread or even post anything of value. Sometimes people have forum fatigue and just need to take some time out. Others might not like the topic so they don't post to it.
Your topic is a good one. Now the trick is to determine which of the above applies.

Usually when I don't respond it's because I have a suspicion that the person is bogus. The words they use (when they have Masters Degree). They give a site for you to contact them at and/or a phone number. Maybe sometimes I make a mistake but I do try.

So how do I convince a woman that I am serious... I emailed one woman 5 times no response. In my out box I see she opened them.. I would just like a " not interested. ". And I will move on. This woman has been on for at least 2 years. Still I see she is on daily. One question. If I sign up on this site as a 63 year old in 5 years does the site update my age.to 68 ..This woman posted 63 in 2014. She could be 66 or almost ! Reason I say it is because she has a picture comment from April 2014 .....

It is each person personal 'choice of responsibility' to update her/his own profile and no answer is also answer of no interest. I know that it be nice to acknowledge each person message and say something ...but some of us may need to give up day job just to be polite in answering all messages and in time it can get too much so my suggestion is; don't take things too personally if your message have no respond ...Perhaps rather focus how to make your future mesages more unique personalised interesting.

She sent you a message when she didn't respond.
Even after her ignoring you 5 times you still this there's a chance she might greet you with open arms on the 6th time that you email her.
She is should have blocked you. Then you wouldn't have been able to email her.
Yes, the site does update your age on your birthday.
You are making problems for yourself. It doesn't matter that YOU are serious. She isn't into you. Time to move on.

Every day millions of pieces of advertising material (flyers) are dropped in letterboxes all over the world, and every day about 98% of those flyers go unread into the bin.
The people who wrote those flyers put THEIR hearts and souls into the production too!
So, in answering YOU complaint I'll ask you a question... okay?
When YOU get a flier from a local tradesman, or a cleaning company or whoever do YOU ring up that company and say 'Hey, thanks for the flier, sorry not interested in your offering?'

Actions speak louder than words and there's no action that speaks louder than ignoring an unwanted approach ... mine, yours, incoming or outgoing nobody owes anyone a reply.

Men do the same,""don't respond"",
and the main reason,not responding is, suspecting a scammer.
If you haven't "edit" your age,will show, your real age, at the present time.
