Depends on what he promised...Informed consent as a central part of democracy requires that promises are kept. If the promises are not kept, technically, it reduces the power that the people have invested in him. It kinda makes a mockery of the democratic process.
And the major issue in Trump's case was that he promised to be a president of the people and to clear out Washington and the old order. By not keeping his promises,he just becomes more of the same. And that is my core argument. Trump is just a continuation of the same...

As of today reports are that he is going to limit his time in the White House and live a good portion of his time at his golf course in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Melania isn't moving to the White House at all. She is staying in Trump Tower so that her son can continue going to a high end private school in New York.
Never in our history has a First Lady not lived in the White House.

I see nothing wrong with parents having concern over their child's well-being. Having to move while school is in session can be psychologically damaging to a 10 year old child. He stands to abruptly lose any friends he has, and then be placed into another school not knowing anyone at all. Waiting until after school lets out for the Summer allows him time to accept and adjust, as well as prepare for the new school would be the more appropriate thing to do. Wouldn't you agree?
Oh, and don't ya just love it when an article just so happens to misprint who they should be referring to? "Mr. Trump, who was shocked when he won the election," should actually be; Mrs. Clinton, who was shocked when he won the election," Trumpy wasn't shocked, Hillary and her followers were...and still are! But leave it to a website who supports the Liberals to say such as they do about Trump. It's old, worn-out tactics that still don't work...well, aside from continuing to discredit themselves, of course.

Why do people waste their time and energy arguing about that which is totally out of their control? Trump won according to an unfair election process where politicians pick the president instead of the will of the people. This is the second time I know of where the winner was chosen not by the people but by delegates and was contrary to the popular vote. This system may have made sense 200 years ago but it doesn't make sense anymore, what with modern communication methods and computers. It is long overdue that the Electoral College system be abolished so that the people of America decide by voting for their leaders and not by a bunch of politicians. Is it any wonder that so many people don't bother to vote?
As for me, I've decided to stop worrying about how screwed up our system is, and instead concentrate to make the most out of the outcome. I've already made several hundred dollars in the stock market on statements made by trump and I'm in the process of making more. Trump is a disrupter and that always creates opportunities to make some lucrative investment decisions. Trump is shaking the tree and you can bet there are people like me who are waiting to pick up the fruit that falls to the ground.

I THINK you're ALL missing the point, here.
I THINK our colleague from Ireland (PERSONALLY, "I" prefer "Eire" or "Erin", as I don't think of the "Irish" as the "Angry" (Ire) people. Or as Erin, as the "Land of the Angry People"! Seems/sounds like something the English would have thought up, if you ask ME!) has a point. BUT "I" DO THINK that America WAS "Great", once!
Back in the days when North America was being colonized by Europeans, "America" may not have been great! But "AmericaNS" were! They (and "I" included the French and the Spanish, here) were people who were seeking to MAKE a "new life" for themselves! And the succeeded BEYOND their WILDEST imaginings! They started with nothing but, BASICALLY, raw materials, and their own WILL, and built what has become the world's DOMINATE power! AS WELL AS the "engine" of the entire world's economy! They CHALLENGED what WAS! And CREATED what IS! They had a STRONG "work" ethic. And THIS is what made America great! The GREAT America/American!
But, to MY mind, they made one CRITICAL mistake! They brought their culture/traditions/allegiances with them. So, what they created was a reflection of the old! What they had COME FROM/KNOWN PREVIOUSLY! INSTEAD of taking the clean slate they were presented with, and creating something NEW! And what they had come FROM was a MASS of inequities and bias/prejudices. So ALL these things became a part of the NEW thing they were building. And "I", PERSONALLY, lay the blame for this, at the feet of the "Politicians"!
In the early days of "America", there were NO politicians. There were only people trying to survive. And, to DO that, they had to "co-operate" (to a greater or lesser degree) with the OTHER "survivors", in their area. The men who were the ORIGINAL "guiders" of our destiny, were UNIFORMLY NOT politicians! The ALL were either businessmen or farmers! (With various degrees of "success" in their chosen fields.) But they ALL had one thing in common. NONE of them supported themselves, through their "political" activities. Those activities were simply a reflection of their CONCERN about the directions their various were communities taking. They were ALL "typical" Americans.
Which brings me to my point. TYPICAL Americans NO LONGER guide this land! The people "leading" us, AREN'T concerned with feeding their kids! Having a safe and secure (or AFFORDABLE) home! Being able to find a way to support themselves! They've FOUND theirs! RULING US! And they LIKE ruling us!
George Washington DIDN'T LIKE ruling us! It was a hard, thankless job! So, after 8 years of TRYING to guide us! He QUIT! He COULD have had another term(s) in office! But HE'd had enough! And so it was for MOST of our early presidents. Their businesses and farms needed their attention. Thomas Jefferson came within days of having Monticello foreclosed upon! WHILE he was president! They were in politics, NOT because they WANTED to be! NOT because is was a PROFITABLE job! But out of a sense of "duty". A sense of "obligation" to the neighbors and country. Politics was NOT a "job". It was NOT an "opportunity" to grow rich and powerful!
TODAY'S politicians AREN'T politicians, because of some sense of duty or obligation! TODAY'S politicians are PROFESSIONAL politicians! "Politics" is their "job"! And so, they've traded the best interest of our nation in, for SELF interest !In the form of "JOB" security! And HOW do they get job security? By giving their constituents things, at the EXPENSE of the NATION'S well-being. They're breeding a nation of dependents! Instead of promoting the self reliance that made America/Americans GREAT!
