bohemianjack: John Glenn was a true Great American Hero..

He certainly was the definition of a true hero. I learned this morning in a story about John Glenn that he flew alongside Charles Lindbergh when Lindbergh went on missions in WW II. Lindbergh was hated by the government so they wouldn't let him into the military but they allowed him to deliver fuel to areas of the war zone.

I used to have dinner at the same MCL cafeteria as John Glenn and his wife in Upper Arlington. Spoke with them several times over the last couple years. Really delightful people. They were really down to earth and were very happy to talk with everyone. John was pretty much completely blind on passing. I think Annie might be too. wave
