Cassowary bird is quite dangerous isn't it? I've never seen on in the flesh though i spent time in Cains and Port Douglas never saw any Cassowary..

You wont see any in Cairns or port drugless, too many dogs. That was at Etty Bay near Innisfail, a dog free zone. So yeah, about an hour south of cairns.
The fathers can be over protective of the young chicks, One chased me one time, but they make a noise and give fair warning. If they're used to people as this one is, not dangerous at all. But I wouldnt be taking too many liberties with them.
