Ccincy: I mean I have the highest respect for others religious beliefs or non-beliefs cause I went to a middle school with a girl who's family didn't believe in the Holidays so during classroom parties she would stay home and the teacher wouldn't count her absent.

Yes I fully understand that we obviously live in a multi culture society but it'll be a cold day in the desert before I'll before I stop saying Merry Christmas if someone chooses to wish me one.

I find travel expands the mind conversing

You meet people living within their own culture and environment, I've found it helpful in understanding our differences conversing

Not always Serene, I've probably travelled more than many folks would have. The aspects of humanity Which I didnt like before, I still dont like. About the only different thing, is seeing what absolute pillocks Australians abroad can be... I've only ever been called "cobber" in London.

I too have travelled, and found it rather enlightening, to see people in their own local, as then the customs and traditions I didn't understand or maybe even disliked, started to make sense to me, not saying I grew to like them all, but had a better understanding as to why they arose in the first place. So making it easier to tolerate.

Re: Oranges,lemons,grapefruit etc.. for example...

A lot of peeps buy by the bag full ... they get home and whenever crave for an orange g/fruit etc ... only to find out they're all dried out and tastless.

How can we know what fruit and some veg is like until paid for and taken home. Who really takes fruit & veg back to the store after weighing up the cost of time fuel etc?

These are all fruits that don't grow here anyway. Other than that, I know what is in season - which usually is short enough. I still have my own tomatoes (from September on), but I want to buy tomatoes for the rest of the year as well.

It is nice to be able to buy fruit and veg all year round. As for the seasonal sweets you mentioned, if I wouldn't like it, I don't buy it.

‘TWAS the day after Christmas, when all through the shops, hot cross buns began materialising on shelves.

Shoppers are stirring at the sight of the Easter treat in some Woolworths stores before Christmas trees have even been taken down.

The premature arrival of the baked goods has caused mixed reactions from customers, who have praised and pummelled the supermarket chain on social media.

“You have never been more wrong. It’s a ... travesty that hot cross buns are been sold in December,” tweeted one.

“I’m all for hot cross buns being sold year round. I’d have them every day if I could. Kudos,” wrote another on Twitter.

Milan Smith called for a boycott in a post on Facebook.

“HOT CROSS BUNS: on sale already (Boxing Day) by the supermarkets that have CONSUMERISM VALUES instead of adhering to TRADITIONAL VALUES!,” her post said.

“Hot Cross Buns should not appear until one month prior to Easter — each to their own, but my recommendation is to ‘BOYCOTT’ purchasing Hot Cross Buns until 4 weeks before Easter and let the supermarket early-bird buns go UNSOLD!!”

Chris Smith was bemused by the wave of reaction.

“Gotta love people getting angry at Hot Cross Buns being on sale already,” he tweeted.

“I’ve never quite understood the anger, just don’t buy them?”

Woolworths responded to the fuss on Twitter to say they were selling them due to “overwhelming demand from our customers”.

A Coles spokeswoman said hot cross buns would not be sold until the new year.

But Target has already jumped on the Easter bandwagon, and has put out its Easter egg display a little early.

Jmo Only >>>

In Bulgaria we sell Easter bread all the year round...and nobody complains...
In some countries the Christmas craze starts in August, so what?
Nobody can make you buy thing you don't want to buy... dunno
