I was in love at 18; and she was in love with me.
I'd ask, what do you wanna do?
She'd always answer, "Whatever you wanna do."
Where do you wanna go? "Wherever you wanna go."
And she meant it! She hitch-hiked all over the place with me, and sucked it up.
One day, I was watching my little brother in the pool; and she walked by on her way two doors down, for a pack of cigarettes, and ended up in a lake 100 miles away, her casket was closed.
That was 1979.
I've never found love like hers.
Now I'm old enough to realize, I never will.
My soulmate was taken from me when I was 19; and I know I'll die alone.
