More an adopted parent, if you consider the amount of people that are Irish , or have Irish blood in them that live on these shores.

I would assume English is your first language but is Gaelic taught at school & is it a common language spoken amongst locals?

Since some of my ancestry were of Irish Decent I would have to say the accent.

I was trying to say something without coming off like a total goof but I think I failed.giggle

An adopted parent? who plunders, abuses, rapes, and murders her children.

I'm Irish; and I've studied enough history to know why I was born in America, and why I'm cut off from my extended family...

Yes English is my first language, it is taught in the schools,
and i hope it will continue, it is after all part of our heritage.

Spoken in certain parts of the country still, as their first language,
especially around the west of Ireland.

Learning it again myself as i have forgotten a lot of it, but my hope is to be fluent at it.grin

The closest I've come to finding my Irish family, is when I bought my claddah from Ireland; and the salesman's good friend has my family name.

Most people have the misconception that most criminals were sent to Australia , when in fact, the majority were sent to America.

I'm from Greek parentage & although I was born in England, I'm as fluent in Greek as I am English & that's down to my parents , who insisted on me attending Greek school , although it wasn't appreciated at the time.laugh

For me it's the accent. It sends shivers right down to my spine and my heart melts away. I could listen to it for hours...even if I don't understand.
It's like an opera sung in Italian. I find it very melodious.love
