aries1234: Poilitical disussion is part of the enjoyment of cs. i hope too see a lot more of it.

I haven't see any one dating on here at all.

cs put many categorise for the forum users, all are lergitimate IMO

I don't enjoy the political threads, as they are not discussions.

they are diehard (possibly paid) supporters who don't listen to opposing views. They just send out (often false )statements and dodgy copy& pastes.

I do enjoy level-headed discussions on politics, but they rarely happen here.

And yes, people do date on here too.wink

aries1234: Ah so you do indulge in politics. Teresa May is holding her own and will steer us out of the Common Market.

I have more interesting things to do with my time, than to be obsessed with one particular man.
The only thing I have to say on the subject, is that I fear for the USA becoming an even more isolated country , almost to the extent of the old communist block.

nonsmoker: And quite rightly so !
The psychological cushion of mammy making tea and scones for the nation after brexit nightmare,
While the men go do the real work is just in keeping with that upper lip .

You cant expect the Queen to do it any more since whenever she shows her face she is reminded
by public upstarts that she should pay those common tax things or pay for the upkeep of her own home

We've become slaves to the fairer sex , being both governed & ruled by them.

Personally I've had enough of all the political and religion on the forums, yes it is important but for me it is something I would discuss in private and not subject my views in a public forum, hence I rarely post anything. But, some of the topics absolutely crack me up and only for that reason I will carry on reading.

Things were a lot more lively, until the mods adopted a stricter policy but the constant banning of fellow members kept the hilarious & often over the top banter, to the bare minimum... Maybe they should make a category "enter at your own risk" with a free-for-all, where no one could get banned.. I'm sure that would prove very popular amongst the think skinned members. wave

This is a dating site afterall & I doubt political forums would accept dating talk, so why do the politically motivated use a dating site to view their opinions.

Just they like to shared their knowledge and get others opinion...well,this site is free to all who willing to share and talk to...so they can do whatever they want

The trouble with over banning is the trolls come back more than the regular folks do.

Over time it's change the make up of the group.

However a free for all section would quickly devolve into youtube comments section level of shit smearing.

Those people wouldn't stay in the friendless anti social f*ck pen for long.

As the whole point of of being a walking poison ivy infected hard on is to spread irritation.

MetaMaus: No, I don't think so.
It is not politics or religion that keeps people away.
It is aggression, superiority and insults

and that's not just for the political/religious threads
Many one day flyby-ers got stopped dead in their tracks by harsh comments never to return.
Combine that with the last few years of dubious policing from cs and no wonder the Irish forums are dead and internationals are at A&E.
We all have shared responsibility and many of us fail in it.
This one included, guilty as charged

I shouldn't comment on your posts with a 'what a load of bollocks'
You are after all cs's grand master digger, you manage for large sink-holes to get jealous

That's it in a nutshell imo.thumbs up Nothing puts me off more than people treating others like crap and the bully tactics used to get a point across tells us plenty about their character and who to avoid.

It does, but it is also a learning curve dealing with the harshness of written words where there is no tone nor pitch or facial expression accompanying it, for reading as well as writing.

All the bickering I would think would keep people away from any website then political threads.

The site obviously put the political option in place.

If some people don't like political threads it's really simple to reframe from posting in them.

I prefer political threads to 'whinging' threads, although there is often a overlap...
laugh

bottom line: no one is forcing anyone to read the threads

if/when a thread becomes predominantly negative.....just move on...there's plenty of threads

I'd like to see a thread, 'You don't have to be right...Ya just need to be tolerant'
