cubcougar: Trump not gonna get rid of ALL the illegals ... need that taco sauce on the swartznegger you know.

When you gonna get a clue .. to the GOPerps the hispanic is just a KCUF to them.

Just like any Catholic priest taking a dip on the dirt road.

Your accent is rather familiar although different gender and a nice tan laugh
Yet you both refer to Satan uh oh

sorry I do not get your post but I am not making any effort to.

For the record, I do not encourage people to migrate to USA and not without the proper legal documents.

Anyway, again and again...

How is it possible that the most armed country, the country that spends more than half its budget (and only 6 % in education) can not stop poor peasants from entering their land?
Because, they DO want people to enter their country and pay them lower wages, no benefits and they are cheating the IRS, so if you are looking for criminals look in your own home.

Some data: more than 40 % undocumented people inUSA are the ones that their visa has expired, so there you have them at easy to send them back.

Draegoneer: Some reports say that's about how many entered the U.S. illegally as well. Less than Bush.

Which still leaves the question and reasoning; did obama keep up with his mess meaning that he essentially deported zero from what was present when he sat down in 2009?

Just a question based on circulating reports.

I think what gets me the most, is that deportations have been taking place all along. People try to blow it out like it's new. I think the surprise is that there will be a crack down in how easily the border might be breached now as well.

Immigration hasn't done their jobs very well over the years. Maybe thinking amnesty which means our tax dollars are wasted on what they're supposed to be doing. Creates problems for people that maybe should have already been made citizens.

The count of illegal immigrants will drop. There will be vetting. I think many are aware that there are some that have earned and deserve citizenship. It hasn't been denied that those scenarios exist.

bohemianjack: Some conservatives forget, however, that despite the anti-amnesty fervor on the right, the grandfather of amnesty happens to be one of the Republican Party’s most beloved heroes: President Ronald Reagan.

Much as many Republicans might like to forget it, the last major comprehensive immigration reform bill to make it through Congress was signed into law by then-President Reagan in 1986. The Immigration Reform and Control Act, Americans were told, was an immigration crackdown that simultaneously “preserves and enhances the nation’s heritage of legal immigration.”

The law lifted more than 2.7 million immigrants out of the shadows and into the U.S. workforce. For the first time, millions of undocumented immigrants could apply for a job, open a bank account, start building credit and even buy their own homes. Undocumented immigrants who had lived in the U.S. continuously before 1982 and were able to pay a $185 fee became eligible for a green card in an expedited process that in many cases took just months to complete.

According to the "conservative" people here:
The only ones that "generate" wealth are business conservative people, therefore they are the only ones that benefit from cheap labor (documented or undocumented) there you have a proof of it.

Conrad73: Listening to this mornings local news. I live 50 miles from D.C. Today is "A Day Without Immigrants"
WTF does this mean?!?!
Legal immigrants are taking off work and school and staying home to show us!
IMO this is the most ridiculous protest yet.
March 8 is A Day Without Women.

I want a A DAY WITHOUT IDIOTS!!!!!!

Easy enough ... have a day off from here Conrad !

In the UK employers face a fine of up to GBP 10,000 per illegal immigrant discovered to be employed ...

In NZ we seem to have a huge problem with restauranteurs, hopsitality and cleaning company operators ( esp) from three particular regions who ruthlessly exploit illegal immigrants and overstayers from their own countries.

Already covered some of that with parts of immigration laws AFTER the first. There were quotas for acceptance. Policies always seem to be changing or others wanting to change them. We know why for some.

About the budget; 16% or so goes to defense. Almost twice that on health care now. Almost half does seem to go to retirement and such.

I've already mentioned their failures in education and you re-iterate the reason why the border needs more security. I don't recall looking for criminals any where else but my own country. Although I do agree with a deeper vetting process from certain regions. If people have to plan for "visas" it won't be much different pending a harder back ground process.

Illegal is the same no matter the circumstances. What are embassies for if they're trying to be honest? Our immigration department is supposed to be able to help with that as well.

Why would the most capitalist country in the world would allow undocumented workers?
Is there a cost for the undocumented workers?
Yes, there is one and also there is a benefit of their work as well.

People in gov are not brainless and if they have "allowed" undocumented workers to get into their land is because it had been of a benefit. Now, is that benefit enough to keep them there? probably it is not.

Do i oppose undocumented people to be expelled? not all. They have to follow the rules.
What I find of bad taste and lack of diplomacy is the way you clown president has been doing it and in that way making noise so the gullible (half of the one that voted for him giggle ) will buy it.

Again: there is already a wall quasi 1000 km long, do you want to spend in extending it or making it taller?
be my guest.

If your president does not understand about trading someone in his team might and if the whole gov does not want to trade with México, it is fine. We must be able to find our way trading with other countries.

There is already a proposal in the senate to tax the profits that American companies make here, so if your country wants a fair trading it has to play fair as well, not science rocket.

Actually there are some states that have passed legislation for businesses caught using illegal and undocumented workers. Years ago for at least a few. That "wall" is actually very porous. It was supposed to have been "fixed" over ten years ago. It would have been nice if they would have at least, started the work any way.

The trade deals will have to be worked out per government. We have yet to gain anything with trade while investing greatly every where else for years now. A great many of us are aware and tired of politicians not doing their jobs. Sometimes even department heads and workers in some of the federal agencies aren't doing what tax dollars are supposed to be paying them to do . Many of the so-called republicans, are more concerned with lining their pockets to lobbyists, banks, and some corporations. Very hard to weed out bad politicians when no one runs or people keep voting the same.

It looks like, I have not been able to express myself so would you explain to me please:

How is it that a country that spends billions (and a trillion not long ago) in military/defense has not being able of stopping poor peasants from entering your country?

And how has a 1000 km wall not being enough to stop the influx of undocumented people into your country?
but now Trump's wall will.
(who is going to benefit from the contract of constructing "that" wall?) laugh

If it takes to brake relationships with Mexico to stop the influx of undocumented people into your country, be it.

" Illegal(undocumented) immigrants are paying taxes to Uncle Sam, experts agree. Just how much they pay is hard to determine because the federal government doesn't fully tally it. But the latest figures available indicate it will amount to billions of dollars in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes this year.

One rough estimate puts the amount of Social Security taxes alone at around

$9 billion per year.

Already stated the wall is porous. Since 2006, it was supposed to have been "fixed" for better security reasons. When work begins, we'll see who. As for myself, I would have used the military core of engineers and other branches for the work. That would mean spending on supplies. Our border wall is far from completed.

Our defense budget generally seems to average about 14-17% of total spending for each year. We have 3 charts. Total budget, broken down to mandatory and discretionary spending. Yes, there have been spikes around wars. Discretionary spending is generally less than a 3rd of total spending. That discretionary spending might lead one to believe that we spend up to 50% of our budget on defense.

As far as trade, I no longer care. When the U.S. had it's infrastructure and primarily self supporting, we were doing better. Any trade that was taking place was per contract so losses weren't high and more give and take. We're importing far more than we ever export. That's not a deal. That's a loss with continual "investments" every where else.

As far as education, we can watch states cut educational spending and redirect to other areas over the years. Top that off with the federal government getting their fingers in deeper and taking the standards lower as well as stripping the discretion of the states and citizens on that same educational system. Since the public system is a failure also wrapped up in "unions" and teacher associations more than education, dump the public system. Charter schools are held more to international as well as national standards to keep their funding. That makes them better choices. Most parents can home school better the public system is working now. That would also cut into state governments wanting federal funding for the same system they are helping to fail instead of upgrading and fighting for.

A nation can't survive long educationally with a handful of accredited colleges or universities.
