I also went thru that phase. Luckily I came across the laughter behind my back, and stopped being so friendly. They were trying to walk all over me, but did not get it right.

I feel it all the time everywhere. Its more noticeable when i travel someplace new, like recently I've been in Minnesota for a seminar and I'm originally from Alaska and so when I'm in a restaurant like last night in this small town there was a bingo game being set up i can feel curiosity emanating from people. And I'll probably feel it again when i head back to Oahu.
