I doubt if the jobs which were outsourced will return to the USA.Political figures can make all the promises they want in regards to those jobs returning are just living in the make believe world.
BritishLondon: No, no. The first world war emboldened an already existing wave of outsourcing towards the far east which hollowed out the industrial economies of the west. After a brief period of nonsense on stilts(the roaring 20s)paid for by reckless banking the hollowing western economies fell to their knees. The two world wars and the great depression all come from the last failed experiment with globalism. Before this time all the winners of the world were nationalist and our economics were not allowed to slide into their natural, lazy and default state of free trade. Our great ancestors ran their economies more like Japan, China or Singapore do today and paid far less attention to Adam Smith than wealthy bankers and wheeler dealers in the 20th and 21st century like to pretend.
It wasn't until some years later that western people used all the knowledge and science gained to a great extent from the second world war to reindustrialise the west and vastly outperform the east with its means of production. Now in our cycle today we had the 1980s breaking down of post-war protections and hollowing out of the west(the mortal blow which begins the madness like WWI), followed by the nonsense on stilts(knowledge economy and reckless banking; the roaring 90s)and then another crash. Now today instead of another war/leap forward we're stagnating and I think that's how it will be - instead of experiencing a great war we will lose two decades of develpment: we will find a preaceful and different way of wasting another generation of young life.
That's a grim future you pictured Brian.
There's only two choices anyways, either we're going worse or better.
As all leadership, it's all debatable whether they're doing good or not.
For me, his progress as monitored is doing a good job carrying on with his promises.
lindsyjones: Anything that will sustain high employment ratio us all that matters. Prices will be what it is after based on that sustainable production.
We will all benefit from that policy.
Every black man & woman over the age of 10 was employed in the AnteBellum south. Nobody cared what their pay scale was. You could say they enjoyed an incredibly high, enviable, employment ratio. I can't understand why they weren't happy.

Robotics will end a huge amount of jobs for good. Profound changes ahead for the whole economic structure in U.S. If cars can drive themselves do we need to outlaw them so we can have taxi drivers?

BritishLondon: Future democrats can regulate to protect the environment, the priority today is industry first. Have you seen the pollution and devastation in China and the far east? Well that's happening because of who you support.
The added hypocrisy is that liberals are the ones to loudly espouse the dangers of climate change - the idea that no matter where in the world the pollution takes place it is equally damaging to the earth. And yet at the same time they support the outsourcing and trebling of pollution. They would rather pollute China thrice than deal with a third of this pollution themselves and at the same time they talk about climate change. Two-faced pricks, imbeciles.

Let's shout it just to relieve us from such a notion Obs, yet it won't pop their bubble.

You just pulled those words out of my mouth Obs.
Very well said. You think their mind can fathom their moronic thinking? No, with a billion a year budget from the US, the deep seated mumbo liberals won't realize that that pollution in the third world just thwarts that expense.

So are you saying that the UK doesn't import anything from China?

You couldn't have said it any simpler, but denial is their ploy.
