In december i save a rabbit nearby. just before the frost. he was domesticated. i didn't want a pet.
I saved the poor things life. he had fleas and few days after it froze - 8.
Ever since i do hate myself for keeping the animal in an asocial cage.
And i didn't want a pet.
Rabbits are poopmachines. they eat a lot and process a lot. and liquid the same
His name is leeuwekoning (lion king)
he grew so i believe he is less than a year.

So i decided to drop it outside again in springtime. to have a chat, have a gf, get eaten.

Now i decide to postpone, because maybe after first rabbit babies being born he won't be the first on the menu.

Somewhere i feel bad for 'getting him killed' he is white as hell.
Somewhere i feel bad to drop him between the agouti's.
But life in a cage might be worse. I can clean his diapers and buy his food, this is not the point.

Ethically i would say to let him free controlled. somewhere i do think this is a waste and irrelevant..
I would drop him with my parents so food could be present but also 2 12y old cats that hunt baby rabbits.
I would drop him at work but i saw 2 foxes there.

Cooking him myself would be more ethical?
The vet estimated his value at worthless.

He didn't do any damages/bite so i have no dislike to him.

I suspect you've formed an emotional attachment to the rabbit and have most likely already given it a name conversing

Which is not 'Dinner'.

Therefore, if you feel you are not in a position to provide a lifestyle to which this bunny is entitled, I'd suggest you take him to an animal shelter where he might get the opportunity to attain this handshake

Recently I decided to wash my pet rabbit. I used avocado and jojoba shampoo I bought from the body shop. However, his eyes started bulging out and he vomitted everywhere. Then I looked at the packet and it said "not tested on animals", so I only have myself to blame I guess.

Before you get all sentimental , let me just point out, that I don't agree in caging wild animals. And seen as
Rabbits are wild animals, they should be left to roam free in their natural habitat..

Too late.

Len already said he felt this is a domesticated creature which means it would not fare well in the wild conversing

My response has nothing to do with sentiment, it's logic-based ..

I still want to know how you would prepare this creature for eating if it were yours grin

For years, people have been campaigning against the cruelty of "battery hen" & how they have been reared in limited space. I don't see the difference between caging a hen or a rabbit!

The same as I would a chicken. A quick slit to the throat , hang it & let the blood drain from the body, then skin it & chop it up into bite size pieces, ready for cooking.

So you would take the rabbit that you've rescued and cared for, stuggled over the best decision to make for its welfare, then slit its throat and chuck it in a pot with the carrots you were previously planning to give it as a treat confused

You're obviously shying away from my question which leaves me suspecting that you haven't slaughtered an animal with your own hands conversing

Preparing a meal from a homogenised tray of barely recognisable carcasses is not the same thing.

Sticking with the thread topic, Len has a living, breathing animal in front of him.

You're right. I don't have the heart to kill a living creature. All the meat I prepare, has already been slaughtered .

Whenever I feel the urge to kill a rabbit, I like to really make a day of it. Not only do I dress up as a warlock, I also drink the blood and make incantations, before adorning a svelte naked woman lying on a marble slab with various insignias and symbols unbeknownst to others.

how to kill the bunny for dinner?
break the neck first i suppose. i thought you can do that by stretching the legs apart.
But i have an older friend who keeps rabbits for food.

I don't know if i could do it, we did it with chickens in the past.

Domesticated it can live for an additional 7 years. i think i owe it a fast and furious lifestyle.
