Brexit is a partial and careless way of controlling immigration which reflect how strongly the British feel about the issue. Longterm we're looking at more apprenticeships and robots, or Mexicans.

Obs, you just made me laugh so much I'm curling to the ground.
One2note: The reason for the slow down of immigration is the lack of housing & jobs available. It's that simple !
that and money being sent is not value
some of our products have had to be renamed because of EU
Our country has got through the finacial crisis not too bad so I do not blame people for trying to enter for better life, but as you said we do not have enough housing for our own.
Cameron did try to get a better deal for us, but EU just refused, so they now must eat that refusal.
People who live and work here will ocourse be allowed to stay I beleive and there will be a cut off point.
scaremongering about NHS would crumble or businesses because of less workers-- people will be allowed work visas when needed.
We still must look after our countrymen who have retired abroad, so until we get confirmation from EU countries stands to reason we wont say yes you can stay.

It will I beleive work out in the end.
One thing I admire with you Red, and I say it with respect us your consistent positive outlook.
What does it take to work out in the end us a complex mechanism of political structure and rigid policy. Not easy but I want to join your positive almost idealic hopes of the future.
I hope May does know what it takes to make it work in the end.
daniela777: However. .Some walls have been built to keep people in. Berlin Wall. ...and in prisons for example.
Hey birthday girl. Happy birthday.
But yes depending as to who's side it would serve, the wall can be both a waste of energy, for me it will curb down illegal entry, I believe it's worth building it.

Britain's Theresa May to trigger Brexit on March 29 Theresa May to begin two years of formal negotiations on Britain leaving the European Union at the end of the month.
"May has said she wants to leave the European single market in order to be able to control immigration."
What I find very striking on this story is the above reason. I wonder if she feels very strained with the immigration system while being a member of the Union.
My question is, how will it changed?
I guess the big thing will be proper UK border control stations and the end of the situation where 'if a person gains entry at an EU border they can then travel freely across all of Europe including the UK'
So fra as flights inward are concerned ... the 'ordinary rules' will apply again and airlines will be responsible for checking a person's eligibility to enter before being allowed to board plane to UK. If they get it wrong they get to ship the person back out at their expense. If they get it wrong a lot ... they (airline) then gets refused landing rights etc.

This makes sense. To tighten UK's immigration, it does help create better control by Brexit.
