Kind of depends who's mistake, if an individual accidently deposited to the wrong account, then give it back, if the bank made the mistake, I would wait for them to contact me, and keep any interest that my account made with such a large balance.

Legally, I wouldn't have good title to the money, so I would notify the bank about the error.

No one here would want money in their account (s) from an unidentified sources because it would must probably be of ilegal origen and that would make the person immediately guilty until proven innocent :uhh:

Even the normal deposits-transfers higher of "X" have to go checked to verify they are legal.

Years ago I had my bank I was with at that time call me on the phone to let me know that they had given me too much money. When I counted it out they sure did so I drove back to the back and returned it.

I'd be a bit peeved if I had deposited $1,000,000 into my bank account but it only registered $100,000 deposited instead. Especially if they glitched the receipt along with it. uh oh sigh

I'd have it wired back from where it came from and make sure I keep the receipt.
