I've never been to Ireland; but my family is from there.
When I called Ireland to buy my claddah, the guy I talked to wanted to trade places with me, and come to Hawaii.
I saw pictures of a bar in Ireland, so full of white people, it seemed strange to me. I'm just not used to hanging out with pink people, it seemed way too white for me.
I'm used to a racially mixed population.
I'm home on Hawaii; even though I identify as Irish: and part of me feels a longing to be in Ireland.

But we are an island country like Ireland. Its just that we have the advantage of also being a continent. But then again, island countries can be pretty crappy too, take England for example....

Britain is, technically, just England and Wales When Scotland joined in the name became Great Britain, whilst the "real" name now us rhe United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
The terms are used so lazily that I am not surprised many people are confused. England for the whole lot, 'British', when theoretically there have been no Britons for yonks, UK for E, S and W. Etc., making my Celtic cousins, understandably, somewhat annoyed. Like a merger that just retains the name of one company.
