There are times when I forgive someone whether they choose to acknowledge what they've done or not or whether or not they apologize just so I can feel at peace.

These days I do.
I never used to and it would tear me up inside, so now I make a habit of letting go and forgiving.
That's not to say I forget the experience.... and hopefully learnt something from it.
