here's the deal, the NSA lost control of back door tracking and crash scripts on older windows OS systems,
And it looks pretty suspicious, units affected are XP, windows 7, 8 and
of course silverlight. i use windows 7 but locked it down some years back and have done
my own successful security upgrades without the help of Windows...if things really go south
I'm reloading IBM DOS on one high end machine with a hot stick. but it hopefully it wont wont come to that.
i've been studying the scripts for 3/4 hours and giving you advanced instructions on how to deal with it.

BUT there is No way i'm loading my machines with Windows 10. I personally think they are the culprits of this NSA/CIA malware dump on the public this Good Friday

released today

here's what to do for now, make a restore point in case you make a mistake.

by crazy...
go to Network and Sharing center in your control panel,
open it and click on the link in the box that says internet,

Click the "blue link" that says internet connection.

A box will open up that say's ""Network Connection"".

at the bottom of the box on the left hand side, "click on Properties"

Click on Properties, and UnCheck Every box except IPV4 and IPV6
My user preference is IPV4 only...""this will prevent anything from
being down loaded by compromised windows connections""
you will still have an good internet connection just no updates or window's snooping.

After unchecking all the boxes go back and click on the IPV4 line
making it blue.

the Properties box will open up, "click advanced", and click on the
"WINS" tab at the top of the page...uncheck all boxes except
the one that says Disable NetBios over TCP/IP. ""Leave Disable NetBios Over TCP/IP on""
""this will stop many (not all) identifiers from showing up on the servers""

than go to back to control panel and look for """Change advanced Sharing settings"""
click on it and "Turn Off Network Discovery and Printer Sharing" this is what the
the attack scripts are going for.

it would be wise to download NoScript or Ublock and set it to block everything for the next
3 or 4 days. privacy badger and self destructing cookies addons/extentions work good.

ALSO DISABLE ALL PLUGINS IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO ALREADY.

it would also help if you disable ALL Windows Updates as XP, 7 & 8 are no longer supported
and are now just open tunnel channels that can be used for attack.

i also forgot to tell you... for now turn off java script
in whatever browser you are using unless you have firefox
and have locked it down. instructions for FF are in previous link.

i keep it off most of the time now anyhow,
unless i want to see something on 'youtubeuniversity'
keeping java off stops even more nonsense as well,
and will help protect your database bigtime.

you wont miss much and the Radio MP3/4 & Streaming still works on many sites.

or of course you could use an Apple or Linux OS, which defeats almost all malware and intruders. Being unix based is the safest way to protect any computer.

On Win 7 64 bit Pro laptop i'm using both chrome and "firefox nightly" without internet explorer been loaded by windows.

Nightly kept wanting to trash my paid roboform program so i had to turn its nightly file updating off.
Facebook hates the version of firefox i'm using, to the extent i'll likely trash facebook soon. I'm not changing any of that.

To my mind the last thing i need is windows updates forcing window operating system updates to ten on any other version...Bill Gates is still the riches thief in the world...

I've got a few programs protecting my computer.

If anyone is interested or gets very paranoid. Know you download then activate SpyBot's proxy server protection, which means all your internet traffic then get's routed through SpyBots proxy server. That'd go long way towards protecting your only activities...

i like Linux, but i cant throw it into
the mix of other windoze machines right now, i still use dot matrix printers for 4 page invoices, but i could go back to DOS and i would be ok.

problem with apple is they got caught red handed loading CIA hacking scripts on factory fresh laptops
tablets and phones that cant be removed, so having an apple is out of the question nowadays.

am also real concerned that i may have to bail on firefox if they take the wrong fork in the road
with FF57, i'm not liking what i'm reading.

.
i see firefox goin by the wayside, i've butchered FF51 so bad it looks and works like FF43;
which is what i want... short sweet simple and secure,

i wish i could find a copy of Spybot "1.2"---- "2.4" is still ok but they went to pay to play;
making it harder to quickly dig out any root Kits/DLL's, but thats OK i can handle it,
it just takes a few seconds longer on "2.4"

I'm on my own VPN and NOT hard copper wired...so that really quiets things down
a lot... 1980's style...

Thank You Brother, i snatched a copy and bookmarked the link,
"the ol' teatimer" ((laughin)) and like i said if things go south
the old guy at the computer shop said he'd sell me a thumb drive
copy of DOS, no one writes malware for that OS anymore.

i bet DOS would run like a champ on a 1000gig hard drive and
16 gigs of ram.

hehehe you'd probably have hard time finding the DOS files laugh

I used an old version of spybot and immunized the registry with it. Then installed latest version which kept complaining that i had to versions of spybot on my computer... rolling on the floor laughing tuff still have.

Anybody can freely use the latest version of spybot, you just have to manually run its update every couple of weeks.
Off and on since 1997 or something i've used spybot. Last year i actually paid for commercial version only to figure out it couldn't automatically update its self because it relies on Windows schedule had to be turned on, its not and its not gunner be, anyway i still use the full program and three other antivirus programs.
Blocking Gates gets really complicated, complications includes installing back-up programs that are not reliant on windows and more importantly installing a back-up program that is able to actually recover your computer, sill me found the hard way on more than one occasions until i ran with the back-up image making programs that i now use.
hint'
"Macrium Reflect" and "Outback Plus9" which does good job backing up Outlook 2007 student additionwave

I actually have a spiral notebook of the original DOS commands, i was always good at digging down into XP
& windows 7 files thanks to spybot...the spybot program will sometimes lead you to a general
part of a windows file and from there you have to dig...""No Problemo Sen~or Roberto".".. i run spybot 2.4 manually just like i've always done with "1.2"

and believe me when i tell you I used Spybot to dig down into 2 New WINDOWS 10 machines when they first came out, This is supposed to be Impossible. (((laughin))) i had to really fight with these machines to make this work.

Think about it>>>I have 2 windows 10 machines where i killed ALL background script crap using Spybot to find them.(((laughin))) Impossible? No!

the 2 Windows 10 machines are the machines i throw to the wolves because of state TT&L work
i have to do and they still today still run fairly quiet without upgrades or windows security. the rest of the machines just run in house printers, invoice files and whatnots... i will be checking out Macrium and Outlook like you recommend, i'll keep you posted.

thanks buddy!
