mykingdomforanam: The island of Hawaii has 10 of the world's 14 climate zones...

Well,
we don't have 14 climate zones,
but we are quite contented with the normal 4 in the year.-
No one from millions of our visitors has asked.
"why don't you have 14 climate zones,as has Hawaii"" ???

There's a place between Waipio and Pololu Valley on the island of Hawaii, where only royalty were allowed to honeymoon.

There's four waterfalls dropping from 2,000 foot tall cliffs, and everything you need to live growing there.

Mango trees that drop fruit all year, groves full of 22 kinds of bananas... giant coconuts, figs, papayas, shell fish on the rocks, streams full of prawns, goats, everything you'd need to live without leaving...

When you think of a real Hawaiian paradise, this is it!

It's one of the nicest places I've ever been; and I used to live there for years without seeing anybody else.

Very few Hawaiians have ever seen it; and if you've been there, you get respect on the island.

The valleys on the way there from Waipio were a college. They say the walk to Waimanu Valley is a baptism; and when you see the 29 waterfalls with rainbows at the top of them, you'll feel like you're on sacred ground.

The first time I saw Waimanu Valley there was a family of hippies with three children, living on the beach, and living off the land.

In Waipio Valley, there's wild horses, which you can't explore many valleys on, because the valleys are mostly inaccessible except by foot; but you can explore the mountains on them.

Here's a copy and paste review of Waipio Valley, the only valley you can drive to, if you've got four wheel drive...

Can you surf with humpback whales in the sunrise, snow ski at noon, and snorkel with whale sharks and manta rays in the sunset?

I'm from Waipahu. Lived in salt lake and adore Waikiki beach. But I can't live there anymore. Island fever.

Very nice to take a break for 6 days after that, I've to fly out. Back to the mainland.

lindsyjones: I have traveled quite a bit and lived in many places.

The best of the best for me is in Switzerland, very clean and peaceful. Picturesque and majestic.

But Queensland Australia is my most desired place to visit over and over again. Particularly in Daintree area, it's very spiritual and peaceful.

I visited Germany, Austria, and a former USSR country I won't mentioned.

In that country at the hotel I was treated like it was still

under Russia hands.

I can't handle one day in Oahu without heading for the airport, and back to the Big Island.

I love Hawaii; but Oahu is a whole different world...

On da Big Island we smile and bow our heads when we meet a stranger or a friend.

On Oahu everybody raises their head when they meet strangers and friends.

People on Oahu are very worldly compared to people on Hawaii.

They wear gold and frown a lot.

We wear more green with very little gold, and smile a lot.

Oahu has major highways.

Hawaii is surrounded by country roads.

I got so claustrophobic going to visit my brother in Kailua (with miles of houses right next door to eachother); that I had to go right passed the house where he was staying, and spend the day at Waimanalo Beach.

The closest thing we have to Oahu, on Hawaii, is Kona, wich I haven't seen in 10 years, and have no desire to see again.

All the cool beaches we used to camp on are full of hotels, and the roads to the beaches without hotels are blocked now.

No, we don't.
we do have deer in specific game reserves.

Your ignorance about Greece has been noted.

Australia for me too. Daintree definitely a highlight of the trip. Also Brisbane . And not a drop of rain while I was there, until the day I was going home! Result!
