galrads: I believe that those who don't believe that unwanted climate change exists are in denial. They probably believe that E=MC squared isn't true too, but that doesn't change that truth because they don't believe.
Once we've gotten over personal and professional denials here in the USA we've found political processes to make positive changes for the environment and our health. I see just the opposite happening here in the USA today. We are regressing instead.

I think the weather changes and it was always so.

I see your point. Unfortunately, Equal Opportunities (Equity) is about as possible as Equality camps be. This became apparent to my slow mind long ago as I read the thoughts on this by my favorite movie star.......

Oh yes hostory proves the earths climate has always changed BUT I do not beleive that is due to us.
We of course should be more mindful of the planet as a whole or it will eventually become so toxic we as humans will not be here.
Nature itself is a better surviver than us.

Most tree hogging environmentalists do not agree with most of what carlin tries to say. We can't hurt the planet but the planet supports our habitat and this is the point he is missing, which is critical. Save the earth is simply a metaphor for save the habitat needed by people and other critters to sustain life.
Kind of ignorant for anyone to say let's pollute and it will all clear up someday. Right. Tell that to kids drinking water from a river that catches fire frequently or tell that to kids playing in basements not to worry about the radon they are breathing... because, finally, one day it's final state will be lead...

The picture on the right is precisely what's not happening anywhere in the world. The lesser of our species are unemployable in an advanced economy and an ever growing number simply will not meet the opportunities of this century. Homosapiens are outgrowing their use.
