An experiment, a marvel, and a warning. America is a fine measure of the extent by which material possessions can compensate for having no soul. How plastic can humanity become? The answer to this question and more can be found in DiversityLand.

Not to say that there are not millions upon millions humanised by the American heartlands. But this modern division between homosapien populism and the transhuman elite can be most strongly felt in America and it is a sign of what is to come. The flesh and blood versus the Clintoid is a battle we will all face one day.

Diversity and gender-bending are groundwork for the future task of species-bending. It is the day by day erosion of what it means to be human now that humanity is outgrowing its use.

I dont wanna steal the wind from Serene's sail, but a much more serious problem is their inability to say aluminium properly (they say aloominumm). Not to dismiss or trivialise the bayzil situation, but a lot more things are made from aluminium than basil. In fact, pesto is about the only thing I can think of made out of basil, which I dont eat anyway because it has nuts in it.

Another problem I have identified with America- the piano players always stop playing, just because a guy enters a bar and looks around. The barmen there arent much better either, they're always polishing a glass when the guy enters, and often duck down or hide before the shooting has even started properly.

How do YOU say Basil? And Produce?
On the subject of Metric vs inch's & pounds. The Metric system is based on the Earth whereas the American system is based on the human body. In many ways Metric is much easier to use mathematically being a base 10 decimal system. On the other hand, the US system in a way is like the ancient system from the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. A Cubit was the length of a mans forearm from the elbow to the tip of the stink finger and it measured roughly 18 inches. There were 3 different Cubits BTW.The inch was the length of the thumb from the end to the first joint, the foot was the length of well, a foot. A yard was roughly the length of a mans stride which = 3 feet. It came in handy to have all these measuring devices an integral part of a mans body. The Metric system doesn't have that.
Personally, I move easily between inch's and millimeters due to my experience as a foreign car mechanic in fact I'm one of few old mechanics who has had to work with British Standard wrench sizes when I worked for the Rootes Group.

Back to words, you people have a habit of compacting multisyllabic words which make it hard to understand for example take the word Amazon, it's common for Brits to eliminate the o making it sound like Amazin. Battery is Batry and Brits can't pronounce the letter R for example;

Would you prefer if the barmen there doesn't hide and continue polishing a glass,when the guy enters with gun and expectedly shoots ?

Nah, I just really like my piano music not to be interrupted like that. The barman is just collateral damage, any fool can pour a drink.
