I intend to do a bit of travelling soon, and there are so many amazing places to see
I don't know where to start, i have been around a lot of Ireland,, and some of the U K.
I have only been to Boston in the U S A, but would love to see some more of it.
Can you sell me your part of The U S A, as my travel partner was saying New York, to begin with,, but not sure about it, would love to see some spectacular sights.

First thing is what would you particularly be looking for?
Nature? Culture? Museums? Cuisine? etc..
In USA Maine would be my choice because of friends, nature and of course wild life and during the summer the water is not too cold (still cold though) to swim but you might know that better than I do.
California would be my choice too for a tour of the different cuisines there following some of the Jonathan Gold advices.
TripAdvisor also offers lots of helpful tips about everything.

If you want a change of scenery & culture, try Cyprus .( the Greek side, not the Turkish occupied one) A beautiful island , with guaranteed sunshine, friendly people, with lovely beeches & hotels. Plus excellent fresh organic food.

If you want to know anything about NYC (Museums and Landmarks) or the Mid Hudson River Valley (expensive mansions from the guilded age), let me know. I can also tell you a lot about Orlando, Florida (Disney World, Universal, and Sea World), Americas oldest European stettled city Saint Augustine, Florida. Denver, Colorado, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming and Northern Nevada.

Karlorado What would you recommend about the NYC museums, not that I think I will be allowed to enter USA because of the memes that I have posted here

The Metropolitan Museum of Art is probably the largest museum of art in the U.S. It represents about 5000 years of art in over 2 million square feet of space. It is located in Central Park (east side) on 5th Avenue at about 82nd Street. In one of its many wings is the entire Temple of Dendur from Egypt. In the Medieval Collection is a monstrance that has a glass vial in the middle that supposedly holds a tooth from Mary Magdalene. I have been here twice and both times the place was practically empty except for the lobby.
Here is a better more detailed video of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It is 50 minutes long. Sad thing about this museum is that most people who live in NY and visit NYC don't even know it exists. Admission is 25 dollars but you can give less if you can't afford it. There are no free days. Some people call it the "Met" but most people think the "Met" is the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center.

I live less then 40 minutes from New York. The only thing that attracts me to NY are the Broadway shows. The museums are okay but I think the museums in Washington, DC are more interesting.
New York will give you heartburn odors, noise and horrible crowds plus the heat in the summer is daunting.
New York in December is nice because of the Radio City Shows, the Christmas tree at the skating rink and Fifth Avenue stores have decorated windows inside the store.
However, if you start with NY make sure you take the ferry boat to the Statute of Liberty. There is also a nice boat ride around Manhattan at night.
Make sure you wallet and/or purse have RIFD linings to prevent criminals from scanning your credit cards. Not kidding about this.

Your welcome Anna.
Goggle these words "RFID wallet
It will explain how your credit cards are protected from people when they get close to you in a crowd. All they have to do is push a button on their little machine (that you won't see) and they have your credit card number.
Good luck and please take precaution against those credit card scanners.

That is a subliminal invitation with the warning included about losing the head
Thank you Karlorado
"In 1965, the Egyptian government gifted the Temple of Dendur to the United States government which helped saving many Nubian monuments from drowning in the floods of Lake Nasser through the Aswan Dam project. Many monuments that were saved were simply dismantled and moved to higher ground but Dendur was disassembled and moved across the ocean in 661 crates on the S.S. Concordia Star. It took nearly 10 years for the complete temple to make it to New York City.
The Temple of Dendur is in the Sackler Wing of the Metropolitan Museum. The man whom the wing is named after, research psychiatrist Dr. Arthur M. Sackler, was asked to be donor for the project to build the wing for the temple. It only took him 10 seconds to say yes"
