I'm currently immersed in William Dalrymple's In Xanadu, one of his earlier works conversing

Most definitely one of my favourite authors, this book takes you on an intrepid journey from Syria through Iran, Pakistan and China , tracing the steps of Marco Polo, with the humour, intelligence and insight that I've come to expect from this amazing writer cheers

I think people misunderstood. It's about those disillusioned souls that think they have a best seller when all they have is toilet paper and then get enraged by a professional appraisal.

You're entitled to your opinion. That's why we post in the first place. You and I have thick enough skin, honey.

hug

But if Molly had said it... it would have broken my.... nope... don't have one. I'd have been fine.

laugh

BTW, I bought a kindle and am reading again. Paperbacks were starting to be a struggle and tablest/phones knacker your eyes after a while with that bscklighting . So I'm reading 'Azkaban' for the umpteenth time.

It's a delightful political romp filled with lots of larger than life characters. Although she can't tell anecdotes.

Nickki Gemmell's 'After' ...

Thought this might be worth a look, an autobiographical account from an Australian author whose best-selling novel I entertained some years ago ...yawn ...

And packed it in after the first few pages - self-indulgent, flowery and boring, thank gawd I only borrowed it from the library.
