Nah, its a rejection of the brand of politics exemplified by the National Front. It might seem strange to an American, but I dont think any French people were looking for Trumps name on the ballot paper, or felt relieved it wasn't there.

Good morning Trump hater.

Anything to make you feel good even if Trump has nothing to do with it.

It's your attitude that makes this country fail. Are you proud of that? frustrated

It's very obvious that France is getting away with anyone who's legacy in politics is well rooted from a long record of leadership. Le Pen is a product of a politically experienced people.

Have you spent all that gold you hoarded in the 1940´s or have you still got a bit of change left?

Its a time of fear and instability, voters are reticent to take chances with unknown quantities in such times. It should speed up the Brexit process significantly, and impact land values anywhere near Calais.

Some things, you dont want to give too much notice about. Big influx of immigrants for 18 months, then huge influx for 6 months, then rioting and looting...

Marine Le Pen had on her back his Father antisemitism and that should have been a factor that voters might have considered.

Brexit isn't like Trump in that whilst it is sticking two fingers up to the establishment it doesn't involve placing your trust in a nobhead: Farage would never have won a general election..

America feels like a powderkeg and a similar story will unfold in Europe given time to rust and degenerate. Ten more years social crippling and the miscreants will elect a dickhead. There's nothing to feel pleased about.

The French are proper grown ups and there would have been expectation on Le Pen to actually deliver. And maybe that's the point. France is looking for more than an epic troll when this was all America wanted. America is the most advanced stage of an infantilised world.

I don't hate him I just think he's an incompetent con artist flip flopper who knows nothing about running a country. Take off your rose colored glasses and maybe you'll see him for what he really is, a dangerous amateur who is putting this country in jeopardy.
What has he accomplished in the first 100 days of his reign, nothing except bring us to the brink of war and pissing off our biggest trading partner China. You don't know it but until very recently China was the biggest buyer of our treasury bonds meaning China is holding our debt and this jerk is threatening to slap tariffs on Chinese imports???? Last time they tried that it caused the Great Depression. but I doubt Trump is even aware of that little tidbit.

here's some reading for you

He's pushing a huge tax cut for himself and other wealthy people like you which is probably why you love him so much.
