Being that there are many long time regulars on here, it must feel like being in a social club where newbies have to pass a 1000 thread test and their intelligence judged by a panel of sharp witted jaded gentlemen and gentlewomen, before they are accepted as one of the "gang"?
Is it kind of like "don't post or draw attention to yourself, unless you are spoken to, otherwise noses will be put out of joint" ?
How are you other newbies finding your experience on this site?
And for you "oldies" (kindly referred to as "regulars") do you find newbies to be a source of annoyance, amusement, vague interest or just tolerate them on a "as long as they don't comment on threads that aren't any of their business" ?
Please be gentle, I am still fairly (kinda) new to internet forum etiquette, and I cry easily (nah not really, I give back as good as I get, and have to bite my tongue most of the time crying is for sissies..... )
Anyhoo, before this turns into a bloody saga, I will leave it at that, but not before I shoot you this

Welcome to CS.
I know exactly how you feel. All of us, must have felt the same way as you do. Or should I say most if not all of us.
We're all adults here and IMHO adults ought to be able to handle themselves as adults !
There's a few who get precious about all sorts of everything ... I guess they are the one's who whine about others being 'unfriendly' ?
But if they pulled on their BigBoy underpants and their Big Girl Knickers and quit their PC 'Everything is offensive because it offends ME' and started looking at other people's perspectives ...
I think that's called 'Getting A Life' ... something like that!
It's always good to have new people take part and ( I reckon ) it's plain and obvious that EVERYONE on here goes through some sort of 'baptism of fire' when they start posting ... it surely happened to me and I'm happy to handle incoming and dish back as good as I get!
Moderation on here is handled really well by Admin too.
But hey, IN REAL LIFE it's not so different is it ... join any sort of social org and it tales time to find your feet, understand the local culture ( the characters and 'the way things rock' )
I doubt there's any gang or gangs here though ... not ever seen anything to support that PoV

Oh I totally agree re the baptism of fire so far I've had nothing but positive experience on CS and some very nice inbox messages from nice people (with a couple of Nigerian scammers thrown in, which I've blocked immediately )
Just speaking generally oh and the reference to "gang" is a poor choice of word considering people have different perceptions of that word... for me "gang" just refers to a group of people in a club
