To be honest to myself.I never fake happiness. To be sober. I did my worst when f'd up. To put in the time and effort to achieve goals.Ive gave up many or settled for less than i wanted for myself to be mr mom.now the kids grown and too late too do most

Think you are lucky to have kids, and having been their Mr Mom is impressive - yeah raising kids its a sacrifice of some things but getting older without them is quite doll - dont have any myself

Not having kids might be an empty feeling but there are lots of children than need care/help and just taking care or partially helping a child or an elder people can bring our humanity out.
Thera are plenty on children/elder people and even parents around that need some help/need, no reason to feel doll look closer to you.

I agree with you about taking care of your community and maybe adopt if you feel for it & thanks for the advice! I am really close with my family which is quite small & I didnt (yet) get to feeling the dollness of a life without kids - think my life so far has been far too chaotic to arrive to feel that way
