Wiki says (with a bit of rewording by me).....once the decision to go beyond this fabled line is made, the decision and its resulting consequences are permanently decided and irreversible.

I always refer to lines that shouldn't be crossed.
I'm a firm believer that there are lines that should not be crossed,
but people will cross them without a thought for peoples feelings and the law
The main one is, women (and men too ) but in my experience women,
take a fancy to a married man and stop at nothing until they get them.
That is not to say that the man/ woman are happy in their relationship,
but in my honest opinion, there should be a respect for the other person,
until that relationship is over!

Nice ethic !
Not a lotta people concern themselves with 'ethics' instead relying on 'morality' which has just come to 'the current absence of ethics' and 'societal approval of fashionable destructive behaviour'
How about farting in church ... say at a moment in the sermon when the preacher is pausing 'for effect' ... does that cross a line ?

(so called) Feminists
Students ( esp media and gender studies )
If you ever come across a Feminist ( either gender) Democrat Gender studies post grad student the best plan is immediate retreat before you get strangled in the multitude of line strands !

I have, and do, come across all of those regularly (except the democrats) as i live in a university town. I listen, and allow their youthful enthusiasm out. Most grow out of it eventually, or at least the activist-edge is blunted.
But if there is no activism and high mindedness when young, there never will be.
