I have always regarded it as a form of hypnotism:- Like, just for that split second, they flash a can of coke and candyfloss, and at the next break everyone goes to the cafeteria to buy exactly that.
Some people r affected and others again not, it depends on ur strength of mind, and awareness.
If u r into observing people, reading body languages, noticing voice tones, reading between the lines, etc we r on the same wavelength.
