LaPiu: And one of our frequent contributors asked me yesterday if I light fire in dry woods fulltime;
I LOVE to agree, but cant really find a lot to agree with these last 2 days; and
I CANNOT tolerate that you say you 'cant condemn' terrorist actions!!!
Whatever you've have experienced of horrors in life, terror actions killing innocents are NEVER acceptable
Dear LaPiu, you need to go attend classes at a war college or classes on War; Strategies and Tactics at the very least to fully understand how wars operate; what is effective and why or ineffective and why.; what purpose do the Geneva accords have; who did not sign them and why and the ramifications of refusal to sign all the accords by a major world power. Once you can say that you have studied these, you would have gained a better understanding and comprehension of what you may condemn at first impressions without any basic understanding at all of the basic tactics and strategies used to fight both a defensive or offensive war in modern times. This Is (sadly) not the 18th or 19th century. Nations will not as they cannot fight any war to actually win. Those days are long gone. There hasn't been any glory in any wars since the the last 'world war' and any sense of honour has become the objects of ridicule and laughter just as the term 'border' or even 'nation'. Today, it is wars of all against all and nothing or anyone is can escape its brutality no matter how repulsive, repellent or disgusting you, or anyone may find it on a personal basis, or as the Yanks are so fond of saying,"nothing personal, it's just business..." and the business is war in its totality and everyone has become a part of it. No one is excluded; no innocents; everyone is 'fair-game'. Once you fully realize this concept as a truth the sooner you and others can find ways to lessen the impact on yourselves and those whom you love. The very idea of 'winning' any war is laughable; rather quaint for those currently 'exempt' from actually fighting one and yet we are all targets or will be at some point...

It really sucks because Europe has all this small countries and you can go from one to the next quite quickly. Perfect Holiday destination. However with all this attacks seems pretty unsafe to go to any touristic area in France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, UK, etc.
I myself would love to visit Egypt one day. It will have to wait until stuff calm down a bit I guess.

It's almost the same in South America; lots of countries within fairly easy travel: Equador to either Columbia or Peru; Peru to Bolivia and/ or Paraguay, and depending where in Argentina you live, it's easy to visit Uruguay and its beautiful beaches and casinos ; or visit Paraguay or Brazil with no more a a couple of hours flight or even by train, same as in Europe minus any terrorists of course; or rather, any active ones... Like you, I'd love to get back to Egypt, Iraq, Syria purely for all the ancient ruins before they are all destroyed by the psycho fanatics and looters; hell, I'd love to return to Argentina to a town at the foot of the Andes that I've always called 'Buenosnotches' as the scenery is so like Switzerland...I miss that place and other cities there also Mendoza in the wine country; Cordoba; Tuchman and Bahia Blanca... I miss that country; should have bought land there in the mid 70's or even Paraguay for about ten US dollars an acre... Too young; too soon...

It's a shame what they are doing to the ruins.
Things like that really piss me off.
P.S= You should see Bariloche now, totally covered in snow!
LaPiu: ... CHANGE your immediate plans due to FEAR of terrorism?
and WHAT do you think would be the best way to END all terror ASAP?!
No. And "terror" (not a fan of that word in particular) has been going on for many, many centuries. To end it all ASAP? A 25 mile-wide asteroid impact should just about do it....

Must be beautiful...snow covered cobblestone streets, chocolate makers all busy and skiers riding up the slopes on the lifts, one can almost hear sleigh bells on sleds...and either alpacas or llamas pulling them along... it really does remind one of alpine Europe and one can hear so many European languages from all the visitors there. Shame that the Austrian and German populations there has declined over the decades....
