As easy as it is to find a good partner at less than 40s and 50s, because everyone is work in h/her individual time zone, just as California and New York are not in the same time zone doesn't make New York or California early or late.
Agree with you, this day and age everyone is so busy, finding time to do anything is difficult enough. I am at a slight disadvantage English is my language and I live in Bulgaria, my choice of course, I can speak a bit of it, but not confident enough to speak freely.

If you go out looking to grab a partner, forget it, nobody is for the taking, and what makes you think that you will be an ideal partner to the ideal partner that you find? Just go out, socialize, enjoy yourself and make friends and if there is chemistry between you and another person......bingo.

Well put, and could not be more simple, but strange how woman complicate something so simple.
Age is no matter. You can be old at 25 and young at 60. Depends on ho you live your life (and you tak care of yourself)

very difficult especially when one lives on a small island with men who still live in the past decade

What anyone "thinks" about is does not change that specific statistical evidence...
But, of course, it tells nothing about some individual A + some individual B.
The word 'ideal' as used in the topic opener, could be read more simply as 'mutual attraction'.
We should not even critisise the topic opener's word use, it's the same, contentwise. It's ok :-)

It seems to be the same as it was 40 years ago! It's easy to get anyone, difficult to find someone you're in alignment with.

I'm not looking for an ideal partner. It's as real as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow or as a unicorn.
But I'm totally would like to fall in love for... well, once more :)

I read their profile (men) and as they age they get more picky and detailed.
I am confused too, and so this forum will enlighten us hopefully to understand the age range of 70+
And, not only those age groups want a partner but partner for intimacy! !!!
I wonder about their energy when one foot is already closer to cemetery .

As a man in the middle of that life span, I've been dating a comparable number of divorced women and widows. Among single (male) friends and colleagues, few never married and most are divorced, yet there are no widowers: life expectancy statistics confirmed.
As such, men over 50 have a better perspective in finding a partner.
