All relationships have taught us something. Whether they are on going or have ended, did we not learn something. Therefore, in an abstract way, all relationships, are good relationships???confused

I reckon there's always a temptation to look back and see shortcomings that were not apparent at the time, but there must have been something worthwhile at some stage. So maybe not great but formative nonetheless. Live and learn. ..

I agree. There was something that made us enter into said relationship. If you only shared to weeks of happiness. It was indeed two weeks of happiness. I can find endearing qualities in all my past relationships. I only hope they can say the same about me.conversing

Sometimes it feels like you did NEED to meet this & this to learn & develop yourself !!!

I started to think that way & felt very 'Buddha like' about it angel

But NOW I think that I didnt REALLY need to learn & develop that much - would just prefer having encountered Mr Right 20 yrs ago grin

Mark Twain once said this:

"One can get too much from experience. A cat that has sat on a hot stove will not sit on a hot stove again, but she won't sit on a cold stove, either".

Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger - except for polio or a loveless husk of a marriage.

I've heard it said over and over again that all things happen for a reason. We are the sum of all we have been through.
'Some have asked me why I kept getting married. I reply that I love the concept of marriage(did), and you are only a loser when you quit trying.

I found Ms Right, but she died after 16 years of marriage

And I can sense on you that you had 16 wonderful years together heart wings

I think its never too late to find love again; you know the saying about fire in old houses!!!

I would also marry again without hesitation, if I felt for it - would be 3rd time cool

"in an abstract way"...ha! More like a surrealistic nightmare out of Dali's eccentric mind with the women resembling the way Picasso depicted many of them...laugh
If any 'lessons are learned, they won't likely ever come to mind as those circumstances usually never repeat themselves to apply any of those so called lessons and no two women are ever alike except superficially.
It may be easy to say that each woman is an experience unlike any you have ever experienced...now that alone may be frightening...laugh hole
