Yes Florida has mosquitoes. We don't have snow plows but we have mosquito trucks we can call if they get bad. It is a public service paid for by tax dollars.
Yes they are all over the World. They are the most dangerous creatures on earth According to the World Health Organization, about 725,000 people are killed every year by mosquito-borne diseases. Malaria alone affects 200 million, of which an estimated 600,000 die. Mosquitoes also carry dengue fever, yellow fever and encephalitis.and now the ZIKA Virus. I consider myself to be fairly knowledgeable about Mosquito's because killing them is sort of a hobby of mine. I've been able to reduce the population of Mosquito's in my surroundings by waging a constant battle against them. I don't use chemicals of any kind rather I use their own instincts against them. A few facts about Mosquito's; Only the female stings. Mosquito's don't "Breed" in water. The female lays her eggs in water. Without water, Mosquito's have no place to lay their eggs. The easiest way to kill a lot of Mosquito's is to invite them to lay their eggs in a bucket that YOU can control. Make certain there are no other sources of stagnant water around for them to lay their eggs in. You can harvest the floating egg "rafts" and smoosh them between your fingers or let them hatch out into larvae which you can screen through a fine mesh splatter guard used for frying bacon etc. Knock the Larvae off the screen onto the ground so they can bake in the Sun. Set up 1 bucket of stinky water and 1 empty bucket. Every 2-3 days pour the water from 1 bucket to the next through the screen. Dispose of the wiggling Larvae on the screen as mentioned.
An alternate method is to put a goldfish in the bucket. They will eat the Larvea.
Bill Gates endorses genetically modified mosquitoes to combat malaria
Bill Gates endorsed the use of a powerful and controversial new gene-editing tool to create malaria-resistant mosquitoes in an interview with Bloomberg News today.
The world’s deadliest creature isn’t what you might expect. A 2016 graphic from Bill Gates’ blog outlined the number of deaths per year related to animals. You’ll see the biggest offender: mosquitoes.

Bill Gates Doubles His Bet on Wiping Out Mosquitoes with Gene Editing
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation plans to double the sum it is spending to create a mosquito-killing technology that relies on CRISPR gene editing.
The technique, called a gene drive, is a way to spread traits through wild populations of animals, but its ability to alter nature is drawing opposition from some environmental groups.
Tomatoes, mosquitoes and lasers: bizarre projects receive Gates grants
Can tomatoes be taught to make antiviral drugs for people who eat them? Would zapping your skin with a laser make your vaccination work better? Could malaria-carrying mosquitoes be given a teensy head cold that would prevent them from sniffing out a human snack bar?
These are among 81 projects awarded $100,000 grants today by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation in a bid to support innovative unconventional global health research.
