It's simple we the public are their employers then vote according to your conscience and fire them.

Irish people need to engage and embrace real change, that's empower yourself.

Yes the country is without equity or fairness, we the people need to change that and how you vote determines that.

They are not interested in fixing things, simples! It suits their purposes for things to be in chaos, that way we are dependent on them to 'fix' things. If they were really concerned about the homeless, health, education or any of the other issues they would deal head on with them.
Problem here is, people need to get angry, be seen to get angry. We lost our voice here a while back, during the Boom, but we found it again during the water protests. They irked the politicians especially when they saw how people power worked and made things happen. People need to collectively get angry. This collective anger brought down a political party and left some politicians with no following - Joan Burton, Rabbitte etc - but more importantly, it showed the political elite that their job is not a given and that people can tear them down from the pedestal they believe themselves to be on.

We have never really had shows of force, even before the boom.

I remember years ago being in Spain during a huelga general, a general strike.
Nobody went to work, they took to the streets instead. There wsd absolutely no business open, not a shop ir pub.
It was for one day only, but it closed the country, and had an impact.

We, on the other hand, mutter and complain, do nothing positive, and then vote the same or similar back in again, with no societal or policy change.

We get what we deserve.

Well if you are serious about change, start by banning tea. How much time is wasted by people sitting around drinking tea and nattering? First you have to make the tea, then sit around drinking the tea, and then clea... well... putting the filthy insect-ridden diseased manky dirty mugs away.
