My area is called the " green valley " and " the valley of Orchards "
We are called "The Adventure Coast". We are also known for our gorgeous beaches, said to be the loveliest in the world. (I think so, too!!) Probably our best known "popular" person was a man named Steve Prefontaine, an international track and field star athlete. He died very young, while at the peak of his career. Nice to see you, Ali. Daytona Beach is the birthplace of NASCAR and the Daytona 500 racetrack. It has 2 universities and a state college. Home to Jackie Robinson Stadium where he first played baseball as a professional in practice mode. It also has many miles of sandy beach, some of it you can actually drive on. The first car races were on the beach with cars being driven by prohibition getaway bootleg alcohol drivers.
