I have a habit of saying "ISIT?", which in direct translation to English from Afrikaans, is exactly that "Is it?" U actually query the question being asked in an innocent way, and everyone starts to explain in detail. Good, I hate asking questions !!!

It just rolls off ur tongue !

We have a saying- Bob's your uncle- it means that things are fine... However, more and more people are now saying -Robert's your mothers brother... which means the exact same thing, its just more discreet.

In Dublin Ireland you can say
"get up the yard !"

its the same as saying

"Get Outta Dat Garden !"

they both mean,

one speech error that grinds my gears is when, here in America, people are just to lazy to say "you" properly

An example would be in the Bob Dylan song "I Want You". We have a tendency to say:
I want choo...I want choo, Honey I want choo so bad!

Once while leading choir practice, this issue came up. I made the choir rehearse the song over and over again, until
the 15th time I told them what the problem was. Never again did I hear the word choo in a song.
