Okay, I understand.
Short answer is, it depends
I might like somebody, but not date them if they had habits which I knew would drive me mad over time.
Some things are bigger and more important than others.
Some things I could handle, some I couldn't.
If the person believed in self-improvement, and works actively on changing themselves, then I would encourage it.
We can't change other people. We can only either help them if they want to change, or else stay far away from them.

You can't change people, they can only chose to change themselves.
I'd find it very difficult being around someone who wasn:t into developing personally, didn't question and analyse stuff, didn't bring new ideas and information into the relationship.
I need all that because I couldn't do it on my own in a relationship with someone who wanted to stand still.
I like to be a stimulating part of other people's change and for them to be a stimulating part of mine, whatever the type of relationship.
It's like bungee jumping of the mind for me.

No. If you want to change someone, you don´t like them.
You can support that person to improve themselves (it implies a change) but its not really you who made it, it was that person´s desire/intention or what ever to become better and grow with you at their side.
