Two places everybody knew would flood bad... Houston and New Orleans.

Now, everybody's acting surprised?

That's what happens when you build cities below sea level, near large bodies of water.

In the Bible belt???

My Bible thumping neighbor built a big house with one side in a dry stream bed, on dirt.

I tried to remind him of what The Bible says about where to build your house.

He accused me of not having faith, and being evil. lol

If he built his house 1 or 2 feet to the west, it could've been built on rock!

6 months later his house was collapsing.

I live in Dallas TX. While we were not effected by the storm, we are getting a lot of the flood victims in our shelters. One of the sad things about these types of crisis, is that while the affected areas suffer, those areas not affected have an economic boom, because people fleeing the storm come to the safe places and spend money!

Houston is built on a Flood-Plain,and the more you overbuild it, the worse flooding will become,since there will be less and less natural ways for a flood to dissipate!
