Planned to go to Curaçao in the end of November, but it looks like big airplanes from Europe go to Aruba and there you have to change to some lesser craft, which makes the journey both longer and more cumbersome.
Is there any difference between Aruba and Curaçao that worth the struggle? Anyone experienced on the subject?

I´m not experienced on these destinations. You could fly to Málaga though, probably cheaper too.
Bnaughty: Exotic doesn´t have to be expensive, there are plenty of palm trees here and they´re free to look at. Did you have a bad experience here?
No, my experience of Spain is rather positive. Though the palm trees there in a great need of water. But that's not the point. The point is in the difference in temperatures in November: Day / Night / Water

Hi =) Yes, I´ve visited both. I would suggest Curazao instead of Aruba, although both are very similar: architectural design & amazing beaches, Aruba is more expensive and focuses in high tourism standard meanwhile Curazao is more familiar, authentic...

You´ll have a wonderful time there
Wow! Thank you for the advise. From what I've seen, price doesn't differ especially much between the two islands. And if there's no any dramatic differences in, say, safety, then perhaps, I'd choose the closest one.

No, there is no such a big difference in prices, and also it depends what you are looking for....to walk and interact with people Curazao is perfect, but if you are more up to tourist services, pick Aruba (good duty free for watches and jewerly)....but I must tell you: all Caribbean Islands are pretty much the same, I did a Cruise years ago and by my last few days in there didn´t go out every time ship got land because it was better option to stay at the pool LOL!

know both islands. it depends what are you looking for (as it is for all destinations, btw Google is a great friend).
I prefer Curaçao .
best flying options: : from Europe: Amsterdam, or fly to Miami . +- 11 to 15 H.

First and foremost I want sun and warmth: a few lazy days doing nothing, but swimming and sun-bathing. To get as much positive energy as possible in order to survive another winter. Don't want interact with people beyond strict necessity. Don't need duty free... One or another tour / visit to an historical place or spectacular scenery, one or another experience of local music and arts... and that would be enough for me.

Thanks, I'm still at home :)
4 hours difference in travel time matters for me. I don't want to arrive to destination tired to dead and spend a few days unable to enjoy my holiday. And then the journey home and at once to work. A holiday doesn't have to be a struggle.
And yes, I googled the subject before posting this thread and learned that different travel agencies praise the place (of course, they want to sell tickets), while information from people could be summarised: "Aruba is more like Miami, Curaçao is slightly different". I never been to Miami and have nothing to compare with. And then, I'd prefer biased, but passionate opinion from them, who been there.

Which I also got, thank you :)
"Aruba is more like Miami, Curaçao is slightly different"
means Aruba is a bit "plastic/fake", and Curaçao is just a bit real.
