I have taken up reading more, lately.
In Greek Mythology i read about the Greek tragic figure Narcissus
who treated anyone who loved him with disdain,, as he only loved himself.
He saw his reflection in the river and fell in love with it .

This cold and vain figure, is dismissive and indifferent............SO......my question to those of you who care to
to take part is................Has anyone any experience of such a tragic figure,,,,( only if you want to share)

Does such a person exist,,,, that is so consumed with self, and is not capable of loving another.

In recent times i think i have noticed some traits on here , but not sure if it is full blown Narcissism

How could someone fall for someone,, ,,if he/she undervalues them.

dunno confused conversing

There's one on here with that ancestry who thinks it is Gods Gift to all women, has its sycophants and fits the
NPD symptoms exactly so he might just fall in the Thames wine laugh laugh

I agree - But he has shown evidence of deliberate and malicious intent to women he
disagreed with and others where he made an unprovoked snide remark.

Thank you Chris, i had a look and really had no idea how bad it can be.

I read a good bit,, but there is so much more to know,, i will go back to it again

Wow, i was shocked at what i saw, i had no idea there was so much involved.

I haven't read about the therapy needed to treat it, it must be very hard, to treat it if they don't think they have anything wrong

Indeed it is Anna a very lonely and sad disorder I'm sure.
I know one or two....they can't see much beyond their own nose.
They have a provoking antagonistic personality and when confronted with this will twist and turn it all around to make u look like th em bad one!!

There is no known cure...but what usually happens is these people (they usually are of the assumption that they are highly and I mean highly intelligent...handsome gorgeous the works...think they r better than everyone else)...they tend to get seen through very quicklying and slowly but surely people will drift away from them...and want nothing more to do with them....of course them being a narcissist they will assume it's everyone else's fault but their own because self reflection and self awareness are not in their vocabulary. ..why should it I mean they are perfect (in their eyes)....I even doubt when these people are inevitably left all alone at the end of their lives do they even then think...maybe I'm the cause of my loneliness and isolation from the world.

Even sadder is their own flesh n blood tend to want nothing to do with them in the end either.

It makes for a sad pathetic existence and I wish anyone suffering from this disorder to maybe someday when they can stop looking at themselves on reflective sur faces that they may look at their actions instead.

May God bless them

Narcissism is, (my opinion) the most "sad" personality disorder not to mention dangerous for others who may be involved with them.. Yes I met some, dated 3 (conciously about what I was doing, thought could manage, I did). They are very attractive to my eyes, charming and eloquent. There is no cure not even if they ask for
theraphy and/or drugs help - which rarely occurs by the way.

The disorder consists of characteristic deficits in 6 areas of functioning: (1) self-concept (2) interpersonal relationships (3) social adaptation (4) ethics, standards, and ideals (5) love and sexuality and (6) cognitive style.

Common people are not aware of mental pathologies but I think this one in particular is very easy to identify...and yes, they love dating sites lol!

There is a difference between narcissistic treats and disorder itself, so many people may show desviant behaviours which no means they are disabled for social interacction/relationships as if they were irreparably damaged a.e. Narcissists.

Only people with similar personality disorder (psychopaths, maquiavellis, sociopaths) are "protected" against a narcissist influence or those who got the info and/or have a very strong personality themselves.

Personality disorders are a fascinating different world. .

Trauma & genetics ...thats the way it happens, no one becomes narcissist conciously, they don´t even control themselves, but as its said before: there is no cure, if you ever meet one, don´t forget my words: no cure, nobody can do anything for them.

They suck fresh blood as vampires, they are not able to have feelings not even for their own family ...not mentioning themselves which doesn´t mean they do no suffer, they do, a permanent agony, but no feelings of self improvement, empathy, compassion...I would say its like an addiction to absorb other people energy. A sad, lonely and pathetic life.

No they can't be cured its a disorder...They fall in love with their false self and are fake and huge liars and they are incapable of empathy and love.

Dating sites are riddled in them...beware of the ultra ultra charming..
