I have a question...

I was just told that it is common practice for hotels to not change the blankets between guests; that they change the sheets but the blankets are only changed "every so often" unless they are "visibly stained". I was told that it would not be cost effective to wash the blankets and mattress pad between each guest. Personally, I find that unacceptable and I'm wondering...

Would you stay in a hotel if you knew this was true?

When I worked in a motel/hotel we were required to change all bedding not a couple things.

I wouldn't stay anywhere if I suspected that the bedding wasn't clean.

I have never expected them to change anything but the sheets and pillow case between guests.

That is the only thing that touches your skin.

I would expect them to change them regularly enough that they would be fresh and not smelly or stained though.

You might consider traveling with your own bedding, or wear a full body prophelactive having a full face respirator.

I'd like to know if you find any federal or local SOPs for changing beds. wave

I'd be leary of hotels/motels which have been known to have bedbugs.

Their are bed bug registries in the internet which help track this kind of information; historical and current.
