Our gun laws were tightened after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996 where 35 innocent people lost their lives.

Whilst this won't prevent tragedies such as this from occurring, it's about time America took a stand on it and quit being proud of their right to carry.

Inthewoods: Yes. Fully automatic firearms (machine guns) are permitted under Colorado law. They are stringently regulated under Federal law in the 1934 National Firearms Act. Transfer of ownership is taxed ($200) by the Federal BATFE, and registration is required. Due to changes in Federal law, only those machineguns ALREADY registered by May 1986 can be transferred to a private citizen, and prices have increased astronomically- a transferrable M16 rifle is about $12,000-$14,000, plus taxes and fees. Transfer must be handled by a Class III dealer in Colorado- not all guns dealers hold a Class III designation.
thumbs up

It is legal to own a civilian full auto weapon, but it requires a major background check. The supply was cut off in 1986, so prices start at around $10,000. An M16 costs about $25,000+.
So,most likely the Perp stole his,or had a semi-automat converted to Full automatic fire!

Narcissism and attention-seeking. Big ego. We know from Americans here how obsessed they are with apocalypse and scenes of dramatic obscenity. America is keeping up with Jones' turned on its head, the attention-reward mechanism is becoming purely negative. In a warped reaction to its own culture of commercial cheeriness American success today is the measure of how unhappy you can make the people around you. Under raw egotism notoriety is as good as fame.

Kind of makes you start to understand why NK wants to protect itself, with crazy Americans shooting automatic weapons into a crowd.

Would you sell a gun to Trump? Would he pass the mental tests now required to buy a gun even?

And he can start a nuclear war and annihilate the human race moping

It could have been done with a car or truck, or pressure cooker bomb...whats the difference dunno If you really want to kill and harm people, you can find a way. What would make someone want to harm anyone? Thats what I can't figure out.

Just a staged event to take the guns away from people.
So when the military boots knock your door down you will be helpless.

The guy was deranged, he wanted to end his life but make a name for himself in doing so. Dont you think that is more plausible?
You're deflecting from the main issue, how did such a person get access to such lethal weapons?

bodleing2: Many people who take their own lives show no outward signs of their mental state, and many bear a grudge to society in general. In most countries it would be almost impossible to obtain weapons that could cause such devastation. Usually in such a scenario the loss of life is far less, that is in countries where gun possession is sensibly regulated. What are you suggesting? The killings were carried out by some kind of government agent and this guy's body was dumped at the scene?

What does look a bit spurious to my mind is that all the recent random killings since January been carried out in such a way and at such times to invoke fake sympathy & publicity from Trump & his Sycophantic Crooks each time he has said something Ultra controversial.

cheers

What I'll never get my head around is that if someone wishes to blow their brains out of why they generally shoot and kill innocent people.

Well genearly and fortunately they don't. In the UK, a man takes his life every two hours on average. In fact, if you're male, under the age of 45 and you die, the most likely thing to have killed you is your self.
