Neither actually ... I accepted your metaphor / word play and extended on it given that we eat at a table !
Is it not true is that 'relationships' are all unique and one would be wise to consider them in a similar manner (if we're to use that metaphor) of considering 'what was appropriate' to the particular occasions / relationship ?
Sure there's other tables ... like negotiation tables, multiplication or periodic tables ... somehow they seemed less 'fitted' to your metaphor
