Marriage is a mortal, human institution and God being omnipotent and non corporeal is not - and cannot - be bound by this.

Its God he can do what he wants right..I don't think the bible tells us the whole story...Sometimes God-bible seems like a fairy tale to me.

Well, I am glad that you have read the Book several times prior to commenting on it or its teachings. L.

There are many books and philosophies...perhaps they are all right and we just have to expand our vision of what God is...then maybe we can stop the global arguing about specific doctrine.

This need that humans have to ascibe 'human qualities' to God has always baffled me ... guess that's why I got kicked out of Sunday School ... asked too many questions as a kid ... confused

doh to this question!
and priests follow in accordance to God's will for them!
They are ordained because this is what they choose for
themselves.

Despite the known inferences in the Bible I really don't think that it was God's will. Celibacy is currently described as a "discipline" - not a doctrine - and was not enacted until the first part of the fourth century.

The low numbers of young men entering the priesthood and the aging of the existing should be reason enough to change.

The real reason for any delay in making this change - and it will happen - is more about money than anything else:

The conservatives in the Catholic Church are for the most part the senior group and also the ones that donate the most worldwide - piss them off and funds will dwindle overnight.

And as a catholic,I would assume some catholics' are
generalizing, and basing jugdment on a single experience possibly?
doh

And Jesus was a beautiful man,he was not skinny,he was of
average size and looks..to neither be above or below others.

But pray tell if one has met the man, tell us more?

Its not a matter of inferences in the bible.
It is a matter of a man to choose that lifestyle to serve
God's people without added responsibility in his life.

Not all follow the will God chose for them, yet some priests
are great!

and the sad fact is indeed yes the politics that are
integrated into the church,to keep followers. But not
all priests conform or submit to It!!

But it is sad that this part does exist,as does in many
other religions as well.

dunno

I look at it from a rather simple approach as well:

The Anglican Church allows priests to be married and is still the closest to Catholic doctrine of the Protestant churches.

Is an Anglican priest really less able to tend to his flock than the Catholic priest? If anything he would be more welcome by most couples experiencing marital strife than one that was never married.

I really don't think any of us can say, is an anglican priest
less able to tend to his flock then a catholic priest?

As there is Good and not soo good in all walks of life,as in
churches'; I would say anyone who is doing the will of God,
to the best of their abilities, whether married or not,(once
again their own personal choice)if they see it that way)
will have gained the wisdom thru their faith,to be able to
tend to many different issues of their flocks!!

Hows that for keeping it simple?
cheering
