Yes, there used to be regular official Meets before. Ireland was one of the best places for holding them.
But I'd say there hasn't been any at all in a few years.
I organised one in Cork about 3 years. There were people from as far away as Australia there. It was good fun.
Since then, I have met people individually or in small unofficial group meets.

The Irish forum used to be the busiest on here before. Even more than the International one.
But then one fundamentalist Christian arsehole joined, and ruined all the fun. Slowly but surely people drifted away.

I have no impressions bad or good.
The topics may not be so neutral but the environment itself is very neutral.
We can chat, agree, disagree, maybe throw some humor in, and possibly share some actual aspects of our real lives, but it doesn't actually reflect the person outside of an electronic "box".
How many would leave this behind for reality with a true significant other? It's a very different life with out social media and more when it comes to technology.
