Supposedly religious beliefs are like ones' politics, skin color or gender and if you are different to another who expresses Bigotry ,well then, you are ALL alike.
A bigot will attempt to engage you in a way that results in you being denounced.
If you can denounce the one, then somehow it discredited ALL.

Every religious person deals with this intention daily. Can you understand
another person who is offended by you having what they lack: Faith.

You can offer to share it but they slap it out of your hands, then say pick it up.
Bigotry is both mentally and physically cruel typically. And blaming.

If you wear Bigotry it is never hidden for long, you hit and run often.
Your actions are an illegal offense.

If you wear religion it requires humility, acts of service and love.
This is not for the faint of heart.Your conviction should not waver.

You do not reap neither material rewards or popularity
nor bargain, lie or deny your beliefs for them.

I do not fear transgressors.I am required to forgive those
that blame me for their lack of spiritual faith or self hatred.
You can not dissuade others from being accepted for who
they are unless you are found conning yourself about your power.
We are in a relationship with God . Our language is prayer.
We ask for answers and receive them. There is always a better day.

Religions are much more diverse in their practices and the only cool thing
these days is denying this fact by lumping them all together with mockery.

Stating that 'they' have certain assumed traits, such as lack of faith, or self-hate sounds like bigotry to me.

As hostility breeds hostility, perhaps bigotry breeds bigotry.

It's difficult not to respond to like with like.

Pat responds as to whatever is his intent. But is not about this content.

Lack of faith is often correlatef with self hate, not a new concept.
Human frailties.Without psychology and only religious terms what else denotes Bigotry
except hatred.bigotry isn't lukewarm. It"s proactive and offensive in action.

I would tend to agree, the OP appears to be expressing the same traits that they are complaining aboutconfused

I hear your anger and you have a right to your feelings.

But you also said, "If you wear religion it requires humility, acts of service and love".

It might be a good time to find a way of expressing your anger in a more dispassionate way which doesn't involve counter-bigotry.

Wear your anger well; wear it with humility, acts of service and love. In that way you may demonstrate your faith for others to see it in a positive light.

Yes analyse away while the content and context is religious freedom.
I' ll give you time to find your basis to reply about my clarification s of content.
In plain English it is not about me it is about all religions and how they are blamed for
what people who don't practice any do.

Can there be any one to blame for hatred, except the hater that keeps wanting
the religious people to uphold decency when they won't.
It is kind of contrived chaos that must stem from ? Nihilism?

Ash, I have to disagree with you on these two points.

Often religious people are the least humble, They often feel that they are somewhat 'above' non-believers.

Secondly, I have found that people of faith often lack self-belief. that is why they have to believe in something else outside of themselves.
Conversely, people who don't put their faith in an otherwordly deity have to take responsibility for their own actions here on earth, and can't pass it off on a last confession on their death bed. They have to take responsibility every day, and are therefore more true to themselves.

This isn't a bashing, simply an observation.

If only...mockery of religious practices denounce any intention as to sincerity.
Perfection isn't required but always their bone of contention.
No one is saintly therefore the pretense that religious people should be measured
against that is ..futile.
That we are imperfect till we die is my particular understand in. And why I require
Your forgiveness,God's and my own forgiveness.hence, there is always a better day

Molly your beliefs have been articulate and I wonder if I may are they common
among Irish, because they are not the core points of non-believers I'm around. Yes
Many videos support those ideologies but pointing to out others actions as hypocrisy
is used least here.
More common is the to each his own without judgement. Combined with I am more comfortable
being a spiritual person e.g. good person, charitable and not church affiliated.

I am least of all angry. most of all curious by the adamant comments that people who practice any religion believe they are not of the same human nature as others ( which is imperfect).

I totally agree with you about being a spiritual person rather than a religious person

True spiritual people are often not religious in the commonly perceived usage of the word, and not affiliated to any man-made hierarchical religion.

Bigotry is the lack of tolerance for other people's opinions, or beliefs.

Pat was expressing his opinion, or belief and you have been intolerant of it.

Prejudice is the act of assigning assumed traits to a group of people based upon their belonging to another group.

You have assigned self-hate and bigotry to a group of people based on their belonging to a group of people with no religious faith. You have no evidence for this blanket accusation.

Only by practising that which you preach will you demonstrate your preaching is worth listening to.

Express your anger to the choir, work through it...and then present your thoughts in public.

Express your raw anger here and you'll just fan the flames of bigotry and prejudice.

About acts...they not to be pretentious.or fake it till you make it.
Not acts but daily reminders, which are our prayers to be a work in progress.
We aren't ALL alike.
We don't ALL think:
Only our religion is true
Our God is true
Everyone is wrong
I can't live without saving someone

Inside each religions are different convictions, practices.
As different from each other as any two people are
in a profession,club,etc.

"Everyone is wrong"

That's the kind of self-hatred which some religious people teach, in my experience.

How about, "Everyone is okay"?

"I can't live without saving someone"

What right do you have to 'save' others?

Why do you think that others aren't big enough and ugly enough to do that for themselves (one of my dad's unique expressions) in their own way? Don't they have the right to practise as they see fit, and as you demand for yourself?

Not dodging your comment.I would to little good having a discourse with Pat about imaginary friends in order to
convince him I'm worthy of his CS friendship. I enjoy his home as much as the next guy.
Any who ..back to you.I appreciate the direct feedback and unless we become better acquainted
you might continue to assess me in those terms.
The usage of Bigotry, versus Prejudice will not elicit any quotes of Scripture.
And I would not. But from the technical writing standpoint.duly noted you are known for
Journalism after all.
On a personal level there will be a time I can ruminate on the
impression I leave. In to further discourse, until I need to get ready for work.
Didn't intend to be long winded. There's much more I would love to read
from all.

The last thing I would try to illicit is quotes from scripture as a reply to my posts.

I'm known for journalism...?

Fantastic! laugh
