ChesneyChrist: In one person religion is the license to be a dickhead and in the next person religion is a compulsion not to be a dickhead. Interesting.

I believe there's some truth in saying atheism is morally blank if by that we mean neutral and petty. I see in atheism the recipe for a cold and indifferent backstabby humanity afraid of passion and risks, but without the many flaws of violence and war. Atheism over and above all aims at a life no poet would ever write about.

After death there is nothing has imo killed much of man's sense of adventure and weirdly enough atheism when it was brought to the masses dampened the curiousity of mankind. For example 100 years ago it would not be uncommon to find a person who says something novel. In addition to that without god's justice we place undue faith in the laws of man. In the absence of god we'll pray to police.

I also agree that the loss of religious discipline in schools has lead to the saturation of soft science and an anti-intellectual age. Atheist liberal society never burns books, it simply doesn't read them.

Some atheists imbibe the view that you only get one life and go balls out, but more are made anxious by the prospect of oblivion death being truly final and come to embody live slow, die old.

The rest of the comments I've been expecting. It is the part of having faith that
feels the most conflicting Hearing the insults from Jokes to stereotyping.
It is had for me to point out the large number if people this offends because
clearly their choice includes warrants some proclamation against it.( Us ).

That part of it,being against others' choices- where's the live and let live .

It is hard for me to point out the large number of people this offends.
Cllearly their choice warranted a proclamation against it.( Us ).
And it feels like a challenge I have to rise to but know there's no point.
Being adamantly against it-where's the live and let live. And the
agree to disagree most anti religious people say works in place
of religious doctrines for them./quote]
